The Tavern was buzzing at BlizzCon 2026 as we revealed the all-new Monk class, shared a first look at the new Hearthstone expansion Reign of the Black Empire, and announced plenty more exciting updates!
- A NEW CLASS - The Monk Joins the Fight! The Monk class is coming to Hearthstone! Agile and adaptable, Monk brings a whole new way to play. More information about Monk will be shared early next year, and get ready to welcome Chen Stormstout to the Tavern when Monk arrives in March 2027.
- THE BLACK EMPIRE BECKONS – Launching on October 20, Reign of the Black Empire takes Hearthstone back to the earliest age of Azeroth, long before the Old Gods were imprisoned and long before the world as we know it existed. This was the age of the Black Empire, when C’Thun, N’Zoth, Yogg-Saron, and Y’Shaarj ruled a corrupted world and waged war against the Titan-forged armies sent to stop them. Now it's your turn to step into that conflict.
- WEILD THE POWERS OF CREATION – In Reign of the Black Empire, command the most horrifying Old Gods Hearthstone has ever created and wield the power of creation to Assemble your own custom minions. As the Old Gods and Titan-forged build their armies for war, you'll do the same with Assemble. Add a minion to your hand, then replace part of its card text with the text of another minion from a curated pool. Assemble creates unique combinations and lets you tailor your forces to fit your strategy.
- EMBARK ON NEW JOURNEYS – We've redesigned the Hearthstone main menu with a new navigation tray that puts all your favorite game features at your fingertips. Among them is the revamped Hearthstone Journal, where your Journey evolves week by week. Earn rewards, experience Hearthstone's stories, complete quests, battle powerful bosses, and discover limited-time events along the way. More details coming soon!
- ABERRATIONS IN BOB’S TAVERN – Meet Aberrations, the newest Battlegrounds minion type. Built around discard synergies, Aberrations grow stronger as they work to awaken their Deity, an ancient Old God of unimaginable power. Every Aberration that dies brings that moment closer, and you'll definitely know when it arrives.
