From 2K:
Today, 2K and Gearbox Software unveiled an in-depth look at Loveless the Hacker, the all-new Vault Hunter arriving in Borderlands 4 on September 10 as paid DLC. The latest Gearbox DevCast explores Loveless’ backstory, combat style, and design philosophy, with Game Designer Ryan Bailey detailing her Trait, Action Skills, and three distinct skill trees.
Loveless the Hacker’s Origin and Character Short
An ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin, Loveless has achieved a symbiotic fusion of biological and digital power to become a superior lifeform. Her psyche is shared with a digital virus of her own creation, which can digistruct into a physical Wyrm form to act as a deadly extension of her shared, perfection-seeking will.
The new Loveless Character Short, “Uncontainable,” spotlights the shared consciousness of Loveless and her viral alter-ego Wyrm as she recounts a violent dive into the digiverse in pursuit of precious Vault data.
Loveless the Hacker Gameplay Overview
In the Loveless Gameplay Overview, witness Loveless throw her Plague Star shuriken to slice through mobs while spreading a withering Contagion, outsmart opponents with the stealthy misdirection of her Visual Paradox Nexus (or VPN for short) that can cloak her and spawns a decoy, and sic her Malignant Construct on targets to eradicate them with its tail whips and toxic breath.
Loveless’ aggressive, agile kit specializes in Critical Hits, Status Effects, and devastating Corrosive and Radiation damage. Her Trait, RAM, charges whenever she scores Critical Hits or inflicts Status Effects. A full RAM bar empowers her next melee strike with amped-up damage as she wields her Techno-Kagi Claws, while its charge level also boosts gun damage.
Each Action Skill gains added utility from low-cooldown Functions and high-impact Executables, creating fast, flexible combat loops built around precision, mobility, and relentless aggression. Full gameplay details and Loveless’ complete skill trees are available on the Loveless Vault Hunter page.
