From THQ Nordic:
Initially, The Guild – Europa 1410 was supposed to begin its Early Access journey last week, on July 16th. After receiving a lot of player feedback, the development team at Ashborne Games and THQ Nordic have decided to push back the launch by a few more weeks to implement some of the things players asked for. One of the most frequently requested features was a proper tutorial to get your medieval tycoon career rolling.
Which brings us to a question: have you ever been to Landsfort Herle? If you have, or ever will, you might experience your own version of the "Monkey Island's Melee Island was inspired by the German city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber" moment. And while the Monkey Island story is an unconfirmed urban (no pun intended!) legend, Landsfort Herle really was the inspiration for The Guild – Europa 1410's tutorial town and the map looks quite like the town did in the Middle Ages.
Here's the story behind it: today, the former "fortress church" is entirely surrounded by the Dutch city of Heerlen, but back in the Middle Ages, it was a small enough town to make the perfect setting for introducing aspiring medieval entrepreneurs to the mechanics of The Guild – Europa 1410 in a condensed environment.
The updated demo is available now, and Landsfort Herle is waiting for your visit. We're eager to hear more of your feedback on the demo as we continue preparing the Early Access launch, planned for September 2026.
