Following Anime Expo 2026 this weekend, NEXON and IO Division, the studio behind the renowned anime-style game Blue Archive, revealed exciting news for fans attending the panel session on Friday, July 3 and the engaging exhibition booth. The activations served as showcases for future plans for Blue Archive and the newly revealed Project RX. More details about these activations can be found below.

Panel Session
Developers at NEXON Games’ IO Division held a successful panel session on Friday, July 3, reflecting on Blue Archive's journey and offered a glimpse into its future. The panel featured key figures including Executive Project Director Kim Yongha, Project Director Cha Minseo (Project RX), Deputy Project Director Lee Junho (Blue Archive), Scenario Director Oh Hyunseok (Blue Archive), and Music Director Mitsukiyo (Blue Archive). The session provided development insights, a retrospective on major stories, a Q&A session answering questions from the players and culminated in the introduction of a new project.

Looking ahead, the team unveiled the 7th promotional video, signaling the start of the game’s next chapter. This new story will explore themes of “urban legends and lore.” In a surprise reveal, Project Director Cha Minseo took the stage to introduce a new title, Project RX. While serving as a teaser, the developer also hinted that the interactive “rock-paper-scissors” game at the expo booth is related to the new project.

Exhibition Booth
Additionally, the IO Division held an exhibition booth offering an immersive experience that united the fan-favorite world of Blue Archive with the highly anticipated North American debut of Project RX. Across both zones, attendees participated in a Stamp Rally, completing interactive mini-games and character encounters to earn rewards.

The Blue Archive zone brought the vibrant world of Kivotos to Anime Expo, offering continuous entertainment through massive character displays, photo zones, and merchandise. Proving the enthusiastic fanbase of the game, the official store saw several exclusive items sell out entirely on the first day of the event. The live stage also hosted engaging photo sessions with cosplayers portraying beloved students, alongside interactive mini games where visitors could compete for bonus prizes. Furthermore, daily DJ performances featuring remixes of the iconic soundtrack drew massive crowds throughout the event.

Marking the game’s official North American debut, the Project RX booth replicated an iconic in-game location, offering an engaging first glimpse into the title's unique character interactions. The IO Division booth hosted an interactive screen zone where players interacted with the game's characters using voice commands to elicit challenges or reactions.
