Dateline: 5/19/2026

The Digital Dragons Awards 2026 winners were announced at a gala held after the event's first full day.

From Digital Dragons:

The oldest and most prestigious awards in the Polish game industry were presented at a gala held on the second day of the Digital Dragons 2026 in ICE Kraków Congress Centre.

The gala was hosted by Karol Modzelewski – a well-known comedian, stand-up artist and presenter. The audience also enjoyed a performance by composer, sound designer and multi-instrumentalist Bruno Lubas, who was responsible, among other things, for the soundtrack to the game The Invincible, which won a Digital Dragons Award in 2024.

Cronos: The New Dawn and The Alters – these two titles dominated the list of winners at the Digital Dragons Awards for the best Polish video games of 2025. The Kraków-based studio Bloober Team, responsible for the survival horror game Cronos, received three statuettes at the gala held during Digital Dragons Conference, including the most prestigious one: Best Polish Game of 2025.

This winning game was also recognized for Best Polish Visual Game Art and Best Polish Game Audio. Meanwhile, the developers from 11 bit studios, responsible for The Alters, were honored with the iconic dragon’s egg-shaped statuettes in the categories of Best Polish Game Design and Best Polish Narrative.

The jury named #DRIVE Rally (Pixel Perfect Dude) as the best Polish mobile game. There were no surprises in the category for best foreign game, which was won by the French studio Sandfall Interactive, the creators of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The Special Recognition Award, presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Polish games industry, was awarded to Grzegorz Wątroba – an experienced programmer, active industry educator and consultant, known for his practical approach, extensive technical expertise and strong commitment to the developer community.

During the ceremony, Indie Dragons Awards were also presented to independent developers present in the conference’s Indie Zone. The prizes, consisting of advanced computer hardware, were sponsored by AMD – Indie Zone & Technology Partner of Digital Dragons 2026. The technology giant also presented the winners of the Best Polish Game category with a workstation featuring a powerful AMD Threadripper PRO 9985WX processor (64 cores, 128 threads) and a massive 256 GB of RAM.

"Although this year’s results have been dominated by two titles, there is still no shortage of contenders for the title of Game of the Year. A saturated market makes it increasingly difficult to stand out, but Polish developers are showing that this maturity does not have to mean stagnation. Creativity and drive remain key. And looking at European releases from recent months, it is hard not to get the impression that Poland remains one of the leaders in game development on the continent." - Jakub Mirek, DD Awards coordinator

"You might think that if the nominees include titles from your favorite genres: RPGs, survival horror games, and all manner of shooters, then choosing the winners should be nothing but pleasure. But the opposite is true. This year, I myself appreciated, for example, the surprising quality of Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, a game whose commercial success proves just how much room there still is for open-world RPGs with extensive character customization options. Ultimately, however, Cronos: The New Dawn deservedly won in as many as three categories, the crowning achievement of Bloober Team’s development to date and a game that fits perfectly with the needs of today’s market. The Alters also made a huge impression on the judges. Since This War of Mine, the designers at 11 bit studios have been able to surprise us with an unconventional perspective, this time in the context of survival on a hostile planet. This is certainly not, pun intended, a clone of established solutions. A true clash of the titans took place in the Best Foreign Game category. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 faced a tough battle against Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Both RPGs play to their strengths brilliantly, but it was the emotional impact of ‘Expedition’ – something almost unheard of today – that, in our opinion, deserved the highest accolade." - Grzegorz Bobrek, To Znowu Oni, DD Awards juror
