From indie.io:
Pluto blends turn-based deckbuilding with a tactile spellcasting system built around overlapping gestures and improvised combinations. Instead of simply playing cards, aspiring magical uncles must physically construct spells, turning every combat encounter into a small experiment that can go very right–or horribly wrong.
Imprisoned for wizard crimes and jolted awake by an invitation he can’t refuse from his niece, a not-so-good uncle must escape jail and carve a path through a hostile, dark fantasy world crawling with grotesque, absurd creatures. Fight through haunted forests, cursed ruins, and forgotten crypts, all illustrated in stark, hand-drawn detail by acclaimed 2D artist Ditch Witch, creating an oppressive atmosphere constantly undercut by dark humor and mundane stakes.
Execute powerful spellbinding magic as one of eight avuncular spellcasters, utilizing a combat system built around experimentation. Use the spell sigils on the wizard’s fingers to weave elemental patterns and execute emergent synergies of different spell recipes and splatter enemies while fleeing from the jailors in hot pursuit…and getting a gift for your niece on the way?
Pluto’s currently available demo will receive a major update ahead of Steam Next Fest, having already been played by more than 20,000 players and drawn a 99% positive rating on Steam.
"We wanted to make a game that really felt like you were casting spells and are constantly improvising rather than playing the obvious move," said Brodie Lockard, co-creator. "Pluto is about exploring this intuitive system, navigating these interweaving paths to accomplish something small and personal in a world that really wants to kill you. Finding a path to your niece's birthday."
