From Space Goblin Studio:
A fully interactive demo for ASTROBOTANICA is currently playable as part of the October edition of Steam Next Fest. PC users can download it for free by visiting the official Steam page. The demo features a portion of the game’s open world allowing players to spend several hours getting familiar with ASTROBOTANICA’s unique mix of flora research, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Players will also have an opportunity to build their own settlement and interact with early humans as they prepare to embark on a journey across the tropical islands of prehistoric Earth.
“As we moved closer to the first public release of ASTROBOTANICA, more and more gamers have participated and contributed to the development, for which I am immensely grateful.” Said Arkadiusz Wozniak, studio Co-Founder and Game Director for ASTROBOTANICA. “Steam Next Fext gives us the opportunity to share the results of our work with even more players – so make sure to check it out, and mark your calendars for Early Access release on February 16. Let’s grow the game even bigger, together.”
For those looking to dive deeper into ASTROBOTANICA’s lore, Space Goblin is also producing an official webcomic tie-in titled ‘Sprout Out!’. The first episode launched on the studio’s official Webtoon page on October 13th, with the next few episodes scheduled daily. The webcomic series will focus on characters from the game, their relationships, and mishaps, with further episodes spread out between now and the game’s launch in February. The comic will help immerse players in the universe of ASTROBOTANICA. ‘Sprout Out!’ is written by Luca Zeyer and drawn by Karolina “KAROLAWISNIA” Wisniewska, with Studio Co-Founder and Game Director, Arkadiusz Wozniak, acting as Art Director and Producer.
ASTROBOTANICA is built around botany, horticulture, adventure, and exploration. Players will embody Xel, an alien biologist who crash-lands on prehistoric Earth and has to survive by experimenting with the local flora—all of which is inspired by real-world species and their properties—exploring different biomes, solving puzzles, and interacting with primal humans in the Pleistocene epoch.
