From Arc Games:
A new developer update video from Chief Rebel has been released to share insight on the decision to postpone the launch slightly, the progress the team has made to the first-ever MODA before it enters Open Beta via Steam on September 18, and more.
The slight delay gives Chief Rebel the opportunity to implement extra polish and ensure the best possible experience for players on day one when Fellowship enters Steam Early Access on October 16. Also, in making this change, Chief Rebel is aware of the highly-anticipated game releases scheduled during the game’s original launch window, which also influenced the decision to move Fellowship’s release by a week. The small shift not only gives Fellowship the opportunity to shine more in the spotlight (and the developers time to play game releases they’re excited about too, of course!), but also gives Chief Rebel the chance to fine-tune details to turn Fellowship into an epic dungeon running experience right at Early Access launch.
The previously planned Open Beta via Steam from September 18 to September 23 has not been impacted. Arc Games and Chief Rebel can’t wait for Steam players from around the world to play Fellowship and share one final round of feedback before the game’s Early Access launch. More details on the Open Beta can be found below.
ABOUT THE UPCOMING OPEN BETA
The upcoming Open Beta for Fellowship via Steam will kick off on Thursday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time and end on Tuesday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. For the Open Beta, there will be a North America, Europe and Asia server available. This playtest will give players the chance to experience seven heroes (two Tanks, three DPS – including a recently-revealed DPS, Mara, and two Healers) who will be in Fellowship’s diverse roster of heroes, go on dungeon runs (both Ranked Dungeons and Quick Play Dungeons), take on challenging enemies and acquire epic loot along the way. Compared to the Steam Next Fest demo back in February, in addition to introducing a new DPS hero, Mara, the Open Beta will introduce new gameplay systems, including a fresh take on matchmaking and group finding, and an engaging progression system including Weapons, Gems, Talents, Crafting, Legendary items and more. Additionally, the Open Beta will introduce a new dungeon “Urrak Markets”, new gameplay features like cosmetic customization allowing players to change the look of different pieces of armor, new Gear, new Mounts, new visual element improvements and improvements on previous gameplay mechanics based on Steam Next Fest player feedback. The Open Beta will allow Chief Rebel to test multiplayer matchmaking improvements they’ve made, and give the team the chance to get one final round of player feedback before Fellowship’s Early Access launch.
