The Champions of Chunky Yard Invitational

The Official Soup Sponsor of the NFL, Campbell’s Chunky – Soup That Eats Like a Meal – has found a natural home in EA SPORTS Madden NFL 21. The two brands have partnered to bring players never before seen content and experiences through a new program called Champions of Chunky: Old School vs. New School, which includes Campbell’s Chunky-themed gear and challenge in The Yard, the new backyard football-inspired mode in Madden NFL 21. In addition to the first of its kind integrated experience, the brands announced the Champions of Chunky Yard Invitational, a tournament for competitive players in The Yard.

“The revamped structure of the Madden NFL 21 Championship Series has brought a steady stream of entertainment to Madden players and NFL football fans alike,” said Matt Marcou, Madden NFL Competitive Gaming Commissioner. “We’re thrilled to team up with Campbell’s Chunky to make stars of our players and highlight new ways to play Madden.”

Champions of Chunky is about recognizing and celebrating the Champions in our lives who bring out the best in us – whether it’s a mother, husband, friend or even a competitive Madden NFL player. In the Champions of Chunky Yard Invitational, championship caliber Madden NFL players will give fans the rare opportunity to play against them and level up their game. In four teams of three, professional competitive players will first compete against fans to get as many wins and score as many points as possible in a fast-paced viewing experience. The two teams with the most points, one representing “New School” and one “Old School,” progress to play head-to-head in the final. The Champions of Chunky Yard Invitational takes place virtually on Saturday, Dec. 5 and offers a $10,000 prize pool.

Campbell’s Chunky is paying homage to its history with the NFL and celebrating the nostalgia of each generation of tried-and-true football fans with new gear and challenges in The Yard. Current players in The Yard have already seen the Campbell’s Chunky “Old School” capsule and challenges*, which dropped over the weekend, but on Thursday, Dec. 3, The Yard will switch gears to showcase the “New School” of NFL fans and players with a brand-new Campbell’s Chunky capsule and challenge that speak to the next generation*. If you’re eager to get the Campbell’s Chunky “Old School” capsule for your avatar in The Yard, play now as the gear will no longer be unlockable after Friday, Nov. 27.
