Metro by T-Mobile All-Star Weekend will take place September 12-13, featuring a 32-player 1-versus-1 tournament. Pros will be competing for their share of a $100,000 prize pool, with $15k going to the overall winner. Nearly 100,000 votes were cast for the best players in the Call of Duty League, and now fans get to kick back and watch them compete head-to-head! The excitement has built since the Call of Duty League Champs Finals between Atlanta Faze and Dallas Empire, which peaked at 339k viewers (including co-streams). This makes it the most watched COD esports event of all time, as the previous highest confirmed peak for a Call of Duty esports match was around 200k. Now fans were asked to vote for two players from each of the 12 teams to be the League’s All-Stars. The top two vote-getters from each team, along with league MVP (Anthony "Shotzzy" Cuevas-Castro) and Champs MVP (Ian “Crimsix” Porter), are the first All-Star players. CDL casters also got to pick six players and select a substitute for Crimsix. But the players aren’t the only ones with something at stake during this weekend: from now until Saturday, fans can fill out a bracket to win a 15-minute Double XP Token—for use in Modern Warfare and Warzone—for each correct match prediction. | |
