Out to prove their family can rock, teens and parents will team up in “MTV’s Rock the Cradle DNA Duel” on March 22, 2008, to highlight the much anticipated launch of the new MTV live music competition series, Rock The Cradle. The series which premieres on Thursday, April 3 at 10p/9c, features the children of legendary musicians battling each other on stage.
To further put the ‘rock star DNA’ theory to the test, MTV is hosting a competition in five Westfield shopping malls across the U.S. Whereas Rock The Cradle features the kids of rock stars challenging one another, this competition will team up kids WITH their parents (mother or father) to play MTV Games’ red hot music video game, RockBand. The team with the highest score in each market will win a trip to New York City to compete in the “Rock the Cradle DNA Duel” finals on April 3rd. MTV VJ Lyndsey Rodrigues will be on hand to host the final family face-off right in the middle of Times Square, just outside the world famous MTV studios. The winning kid-parent team scores $10,000 in cash and a trip to Las Vegas for the season finale of Rock The Cradle. Teams can reserve their time to rock the malls in advance at www.mtvrockthecradle.com. Events are being created and produced by Pop2Life – Creative Marketing & Promotion.
