As you progress in your fame career, your level of success is measured in star power.  More fame means more stars and all that fame brings.  The most important thing that you'll need to know is how the fame objects will help you reach superstardom.  Fame objects become unlocked as you gain stars, and some increases will also unlock new interactions with fame objects that you've already unlocked.  When you start out, you can access the Karaoke Machine and Open Mic.  As you gain stars you'll unlock objects and interactions as follows:

2 ½		Soap Opera Set - Act inheritance and death scenes
3		Music Recording Booth - Record rock, pop, and dance songs
3 ½		Fashion Runway
4		Music Video Set
4 ½		Movie Set

 

Unlocking interactions from 2 to 3 stars involves playing a little game.  Each object has a sim associated with it.  The sim will pick a random sequence of interactions from those available for the object.  You get three tries to guess the sequence, but the sim will give you feedback on your guesses through thoughts and actions.  The 3 ½ to 4 ½ star objects require you to play the same sort of game, but you only get two tries.  The game gives you a break though and will take two out of three on your second guess.

Concentrate on the latest object that you've unlocked as it will provide you with the most potential for fame.  If you continue to use the previous object you've unlocked, you'll make more money but won't generate as much fame.  Make sure that your sim's mood is positive and energy high because failing with a fame object will cause a loss in your fame.
