[29] Build a House

Wow, how to build a house. This section will guide you through the areas
that Maxis doesn't do pay attention.

[29.01] Decks and Foundations

To build a deck, all you have to do is to make a floor with a wall around the
end. When you finished, go to build mode and you will see a square outside 
the wall. Expand outside the wall and build a wall or fence around it. Build 
a door in the wall to lead to the outside area. Then you have a deck!

A foundation is when you have a base to support the upper and below areas of
the house. Any wall will be suffice to this job and then you can cover the
area above and below with carpet.

[29.02] Basements

Basements are easy to build if you have the time and effort to build one.

1) Build a foundation on the floor

2) Remove the centre of the floor, and leave the sides alone

3) Go to the lowest floor possible. Go to build mode a plaster the wall of
   the foundation with a baseboard.

4) Use the terrain tool to lower the ground and be at the level of the 
   baseboard to build a basement.

5) Use the terrain tool to flatten the ground at the position below the 
   basebord.

6) Use a floor covering to cover the grass

7) Go back to the first floor and place a tile in front of the place where
   you want a staircase to the basement. This is the landing.

8) Go to the stairs area and place the stairs next to the edge of the tile.
   Angle the stairs to suit your need. This will connect to the bottom floor.

9) Carpet the rest of the house and then your Sims can access the underground.
