Chance Cards, like in The Sims, will pop up every so often, giving you a
scenario. You are then presented with two options, and a third one, which lets
you ignore the scenario. Depending on your choice, something will happen. You
could win an award at work, be promoted or demoted, win some cash, gain/lose
skill points, or even be fired.

This section gives you the chance cards for all adult jobs, and what their
outcomes are. The "_____" represents your Sims' name, so I left it blank.
Also, depending on whether your Sim is male or female, some parts of the text
will read "he" or "she", or "him" or "her". For the sake of this guide, I've
put in whatever gender my Sim is.

Although I have provided the answer I received for the option I chose, the
outcomes are completely random. Once I get different answers, I'll put them
in. If you have the different outcomes, feel free to send them to me, or a
screenshot of the dialogue box so I can type it out. Whenever there is more
than one outcome for a single response, they will be labeled as "Outcome 1",
"Outcome 2", etc.

Chance Cards are listed alphabetically by the Career path.

A start-up athletic shoe company has asked _____ to sponsor a new line of

                 and some extra practice sessions in before the game. The

Criminal Chance Card 2 - Con Artist position
============================================

As of late, pickings have been thin in the con-artist racket. The Vice Squad
has been breathing down _____'s neck, and the consumer affairs committee has
launched an aggressive television ad campaign warning would-be victims to the
dangers of recent confidence schemes. _____ has a few tricks left up his

"Time-Share" -> _____ opens up shop, and within an hour already has his first

experienced members of the team will be forced to pick up some of the slack,
but it's left up to _____ whether she wants to be a lookout in charge of crowd
control or if she'd rather help out the demolitions expert with cracking the
bank vault.

"Look-out" ->

           the radio transmitter it contains. Before _____ knows what's hit
           her, the getaway car has swung into a dark alley, and _____ is

The movie theater down the street just let out and _____'s restaurant is
PACKED. (One might think they'd be full after those absurdly sized movie
drinks, but no such luck.) He's barking orders left and right when suddenly
the unthinkable happens: the Uberburger 3000 breaks down in an entirely
ungraceful puff of smoke. Now the restaurant smells like charcoal and there
isn't a burger in sight. Should he try to keep going without the Uberburger,
or take the repair into his own hands?

"Who needs burgers?" -> _____ sees the throngs of customers and knows that
(Outcome 1) there's profit to be had. He instructs his staff to
                        deep-fry the hamburger patties instead of sending them
                        through the Uberburger. Unfortunately, this backfires
                        and breaks the Frency fry fryers as well. Now the
                        entire kitchen is filled with acrid smoke and an
                        undeniable stench. The customers back out of the
                        restaurant in horror, and the incompetence of the staff
                        makes the local news. _____'s furious boss docks $500
                        for the repair of BOTH machines from _____'s modest
                        paycheck.

                        OUTCOME = BAD

"Who needs burgers?" -> Who needs burgers anyway? While his staff out front is
(Outcome 2) explaining the situation, _____ makes an emergency run
                        and begins preparing some of his ultra-secret-recipe
                        VeggieMight burgers. The ravenous hordes of customers
                        are so hungry that they'll try anything--but once
                        they've tried his "burgers", they just can't get
                        enough! When _____'s manager Jennie arrives and sees
                        hundreds of happy customers, it's clear to her that
                        _____'s true calling is in the kitchen. _____ gains 1
                        Cooking Point and 1 Charisma point for the VeggieMight
                        sensation.

"Roll up those sleeves!" -> Eager to be a hero, _____ digs up a greasy

A local society dame has contracted with _____'s restaurant to cater her
daughter's wedding to a local wealthy businessman. This overly extravagant
affair promptly causes headaches for the entire staff: the demands range from
the silly (500 miniature swans made entirely of coconut paste) to the
impossible ("Can you get powder blue lettuce greens for the salads?"). The
sous chef is so busy taking care of the demands that he leaves the decision
about the soup ("surprise us!") entirely up to _____. Should she make Italian
wedding soup or the less traditional Louisiana Gumbo?

"Italian Wedding" ->

"Louisana Gumbo" -> Cajun cooking holds a special place in _____'s heart so she
                    decides to favor her own taste and whip up a large batch of
		    fresh Louisiana Gumbo. She throws in everything but the
		    kitchen sink: there's more aquatic life in that soup than
		    the average aquarium! But _____ is so busy with
		    preparations that she dosen't remember the problems that
		    local seafood restaurants in the area are having with sick
		    patrons. When the gumbo is unveiled to the hungry throngs
                    at the wedding, they greedily consume it - and it's only a
		    short while before the groom gets sick on the bride's shoes
		    during their first dance. It's a full-blown disaster, and

_____'s "employer" has her delivering an endangered SimCity canary, notoriously
difficult to catch in the wild, to a well known private "collector" of rare

of canary food, as well as a dozen additional deliveries on top of her normal
routes. Hours into her day, she realizes that she's been neglecting the
canary, and when she goes to check on it in the trunk, discovers it lying

admit the truth to the parties involved. Should she lie about the
circumstances surrounding the bird's death, or head to the wilderness and try
to catch a replacement?

"Lie" ->

"Replace" -> _____ quickly finishes up her remaining deliveries, picks up an

"Turnpike" ->

"Surface Streets" -> Already halfway through the intersection, _____ skids
                     through the turn, nearly hitting a baby carriage, goes
                     through a stand of watermelons, and rumbles right over a

"Sidewalk" -> The sidewalk turns out to be easier to drive on than the roads,
              and _____ wonders why she doesn't always drive on the sidewalks.
              She makes it the 25 blocks in no time, and it turns out that

The sun has been relentless, and earlier in the day _____'s drill sergeant
forced the squad to run ten miles in the sweltering heat without any laces in
their standard issue swamp boots, because one of the recruits had been unable
to do up his laces in the amount of time mandated by the field manual. Now
_____ has been asked to choose the proper method of discipline for a recruit
who has been caught sneaking donuts into his footlocker. _____ must decide
between placing the solider on kitchen duty, or restricting the solider's
rations to water and vitamin supplements.

"Kitchen Duty" -> Glad for any relief from the heat, _____ enters the Drill
                  Sergeant's quarters and stands at attention, awaiting
                  permission to speak. The Drill Sergeant looks up from his
                  desk and asks _____ if he's made the right decision. Knowing
                  there'd be no point to overthinking the matter, _____ stands
                  his ground and declares that the guilty recruit should be
                  placed on Kitchen Duty until such a time as he can take
                  control of his hunger and his weight. The Drill Sergeant
                  pauses and informs _____ that he agrees with him, but that he
                  thinks this struggling recruit would also benefit from some
                  "direct" management. James is assigned to kitchen duty as
                  well, and though it isn't the best time he's had, he does

               well deserved beration, the fatigue comes off for a few hours of

place, or simply ask the custodial staff to handle it.

"Clean up" -> Cleaning up an exam room just isn't as simple as picking up the
              trash like _____ does at home. Exam room 5 is still a mess hours
	      later, and _____ hasn't done any of her assigned lab work.
	      _____'s direct superior docks her a day's pay for her
	      absenteeism.

              OUTCOME = BAD

In a remote section of the SimCity outback _____ has come upon a previously
undiscovered entranceway to an outcropping of ruins built into the base of a
mountain and covered by dense jungle foliage. This is a major discovery, but
_____ isn't sure how to proceed. Should he enter the ruins by himself and
attempt to ascertain their nature, or head back to the institute and inform
some of the more distinguished archaeologists of the ruins' existence?

"Go In" ->

"Get Help" -> _____ takes one last and closer look at the giant stone archway,
              and even with his limited knowledge of ancient glyphic languages,
              is able to ascertain immediately that the highly complex writings
              are of no language ever seen before. _____ hurries back to
              civilization and informs the institute's archeologists that he
              has found the remains of what appears to be an "Alien"
              civilization. He takes the pack of scientists, each one giddier
              than the next, to the site, and it is immediately clear to them
              that _____'s discovery may be one of the most important findings
              in the modern era. The Archeologists confer and ask him to
              supervise further investigations into the Alien ruins, promoting
              _____ to Project Leader.

While reading through some of his team's reports, _____ realizes that one of
his researchers has inadvertently stumbled upon a new lithium isotope. Not
only is the discovery of a major find in and of itself, but the practical
applications of the isotope in devices such as atomic linear accelerators and
staplers will be worth a fortune. So it is that _____ finds himself with a bit
of a conundrum. Ethics would obviously say that he should inform the
researcher of her own discovery and advise her how to proceed, but practicality
says that no one ever got ahead in the world of science by sticking to the
rules, and _____ could easily claim the discovery himself without anyone being
the wiser.

"Inform" -> _____ calls the young researcher into his office and presents her
            the report he's been reading. The researcher isn't sure what to
            do, but _____ directs her to a few of the bits he's highlighted and
            then to a section of the periodic table, then back to the report,
            and the fledgling researcher's eyes light up, "I've, I've
            discovered a new isotope! And it's a good one!" _____ smiles, and
            the researcher thanks him profusely, saying she could have never
            done it without him. She further promises to give him a percentage
            from the proceeds of the first technical patent, and by the end of
            the day _____ has a check in his hands for $7,500.

            OUTCOME = GOOD

but Friendliest doesn't want to get burned like he did in the last dot com

"Take Stock" ->

"Demand Cash" -> ALlamaInEveryHome.com doesn't get a single visitor during its
                 first day, and the company's venture capital firm decides to
                 withdraw their backing; claiming lack of business model,

wants him to update the site with all the "coolest parties, and trendiest
places." _____'s willing to take the job and design the website, but he isn't
sure about publishing the inner circle's social itinerary. He could go ahead
and reveal all he knows, or protect the fragile private lives of SimCity's
elite and fill the site with erroneous information.

"Reveal All" -> _____ finds some digital snapshots he's had lying around, whips
                up a page with his word processor, and uploads all the content
                (private nightlife and all) to AsIfWeNeedAWebsite.com. The
