Decorative items are purely that, decorative. The only benefits that these items
give are to the environment rating. Although many have interactions that can be
done with them to which will increase your Sims fun. Decorative items can be put
almost anywhere depending on the item. You will also notice that some paintings
and sculptures can appreciate over time.
