Genki Bluetooth Adaptor (Switch) Review
Cut that annoying cord coming out of the top of your Switch.
The Switch is a great portable console, but it has a headphone issue. It doesn’t support Bluetooth, and its single wired jack sits on top of the console, effectively taking four inches off of the length of your headphone’s cord – assuming that you still have wired headphones, that is. The Genki Bluetooth adaptor solves this problem for the Switch.
The Genki is a small adaptor that plugs into the bottom of the Switch. Pairing is quick and easy - set your headphones or earbuds to pairing mode, press the pairing button on the Genki, and a few seconds later you’ll be hearing audio from your Switch. The Genki can support two headsets simultaneously, so if you’re playing with a friend you can both connect, although the number of games in which this might actually be useful is probably pretty limited. The Genki has a pass-through plug on the bottom, so you can still provide power to your Switch while using it.
If you have a gaming headset and are playing a game that supports voice chat, the Genki comes with a small plug to place in the headphone jack of your Switch that will pick up your microphone. Also included is a USB adaptor that can be used on the USB port of your dock to let you use the Genki at home as well. Everything clips into place in the case that the Genki comes in, which is the same size as a Switch game cartridge case. The case even has a few slots for you to keep some of your game cartridges in it, too.
The Genki is small, unobtrusive, and easy to use, so your Switch stays as light and portable as ever while letting you cut the audio cord. It’s easy to recommend to any gamers who own both a Switch and Bluetooth headphones or earbuds.
