Read this review carefully or I will get angry, and you wouldn’t like me when
I am angry…
You are David Banner in this game that was designed around the new-look, made
for the movies Hulk, and your job is to follow the events of the film while
wreaking havoc along the way.

Hulk wants a hot dog. |
Brilliant scientist David Banner accidentally got a whopping dose of gamma
radiation one day, which causes his inner beast, The Hulk, to emerge whenever
he loses control of his emotions. In the midst of trying to cure himself, Banner
must deal with the pursuit of the Hulk by military baddies who want to harness
his destructive power for their own miss-deeds. To make troubles worse, another
scientist feigning to help Banner cure himself, steals the gamma radiation
source (in which may lie Banner’s cure) and uses it to make a gray-Hulk version
of himself.
In the course of the game, you must guide Banner and the Hulk through various
levels, completing missions based on the movie storyline. Banner’s missions are
based on stealth and problem solving. Banner may be able to punch out a guard or
two when needed, but his best work is done hiding behind trucks until sentries
pass, or crouching under glass windows in the hallways of the military infested
labs. If Banner is detected by a guard, the usual result is a few bullets,
followed by an unintended visit from the Hulk. If the Hulk shows up when Banner
really does not want him too, it usually results in your failure of that level,
as sirens go off and your objective is destroyed (or killed!).
On levels where you are supposed to be the Hulk, well that is an entirely
different story. Your survival is based on seeing just about how much hell you
can raise. The game starts off with a melee of mayhem to get you accustomed to
fighting and defending with the Hulk. This includes a variety or punch and kick
moves, which can all be augmented by involving a jump. You will also train to
pick items up, and use them as clubs or projectiles (and, yes, those throwable
items include the soldiers that are coming after you), as well as honing your
skills in such various talents as punching airborne tank shells and returning
them from whence they came.
The environment of the levels the Hulk moves through in the game is fairly
free-form. You can destroy (and sometimes need to) just about everything in
sight, including enemies, building support columns, front-load skiffs, picnic
tables, walls, doors, window, super-computers, and power generators, just to
name a few. Just keep punching and kicking, and watch the world shatter and
crumble around you.
