Video Gaming News - December 2003
Los Angeles, CA (December 17, 2003) - Vivendi Universal today
announced that is developing a game for the PS2 and Xbox based on the movie
Fight Club.
From VU Games:
The second rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club. However,
gamers will surely be talking, as Vivendi Universal Games announced today the
development of Fight Club for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system
and the Xbox® game system from Microsoft. Due out in late 2004, Fight Club,
developed by Genuine Games, is set to deliver an intense experience that will
combine the characters, settings, artistic style, and story elements from the
movie with a realistic fighting system that will appeal to both hardcore and
casual gamers.
In the world of underground fighting, fists do the talking and the fight
isn't over until someone goes limp, taps out, or is beaten. Players will be
engrossed in this gritty, visceral world by fighting as one of the many
characters from the gripping film. Fight Club, a “no-holds-barred” fighting
game, will portray the brutality of street fighting while encompassing the
action and story elements from the movie with intense visuals, untraditional
moves, and bare-knuckle destruction.
“Fight Club is set to deliver a fighting game that will portray the
experience of a realistic fighter that incorporates many elements from the Fight
Club movie,” said Luc Vanhal, VU Games’ North American President & COO. “Genuine
Games has stepped up to the plate to develop a fighting game that will capture
the raw intensity of street fighting that will appeal to movie fans, hardcore
fighting game fans and casual gamers alike.”
Fight Club will be available in late 2004 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox with an
expected ESRB Mature rating. For more information, log on to
