New York, NY (September 30, 2005) - 2K Sports today announced that
they will be hosting the Amplifier Charrenge campaign, a contest which gives
gamers a chance to give one band featured in Amped 3 their big break.
From 2K Sports:
Amped 3, embodying the snowboard and alternative lifestyle culture and
style, has over 150 indie tracks from some of today's hottest
underground bands.
Consumers will be able to log on to the official Amped 3 Web site
(www.Ampedsnowboarding.com), listen to the tracks featured in Amped 3,
and vote for their favorites. The top 20 tracks will then be featured on
the Amped 3 Soundtrack CD, to be available as a pre-sell item at major
retailers and on the 2K Sports' 'Bounce Tour'. From those 20 tracks,
voters will "Make the Band" by selecting their favorite. The band that
receives the highest average fan rating will win a coveted opening slot
at the well-revered and influential music festival, South by Southwest
in Austin, Texas, and $10,000.
