Video Gaming News - September 2004
San Jose, CA (September 23, 2004) - Namco announced today the release
of new in-game movies for Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, an RPG
due out for GameCube this November.
From Namco:
Baten Kaitos tells the story of a civilization on the verge of destruction
due to a powerful and ancient conspiracy. Players join Kalas and Xelha, two
unlikely heroes, as they embark on an uncertain journey in hopes of saving their
cherished world. Using more than 1000 “Magnus” cards, an item system that
captures the essence of certain objects, weapons, spells for use during combat,
healing, solving puzzles and more, players aid the two heroes on their way.
New movies highlight the spectacular and varying environments within the game,
the card based battle system and introduce several ferocious monsters players
will come face to face with as they make their way through this epic tale.
Breathtaking graphics designed by renowned artist Nakaba Higurashi and a
stirring soundtrack composed by Motoi Sakuraba help fully engross players in the
mystical nature of the game’s environments – a kingdom in the clouds protected
by knights, a city of illusion that shifts between dimensions, a nation of
rainbows protected by a magical shield and many others.
