Video Gaming News - September 2004
San Francisco, CA (September 21, 2004) - SEGA today announced the
release of Headhunter: Redemption for PlayStation 2 and the Xbox.
From SEGA:
Dark and cinematic, Headhunter: Redemption is a must-have title for fans of
the action/stealth genre.
Twenty years after the devastation caused by the Bloody Mary Virus, a new order
emerged based on two distinct but totally independent worlds, divided by the
ultimate consumerist society – ‘Above' and ‘Below'. Maintaining law and society
order is veteran Headhunter Jack Wade, older, wiser and battle hardened. At his
side is a reluctant new sidekick, the rebellious street kid Leeza X. While
stalking the criminal masterminds of the shadowy underworld, they are led into
the greatest danger of their lives and must overcome something much more
sinister than a simple human threat.
"Headhunter: Redemption is a dark, cinematic production rich in third-person
combat and strategic stealth scenarios," said Heather Guzenda, product marketing
manger, SEGA of America, Inc. "Storytelling is now a critical aspect of a
videogame production, and Amuze has outdone itself, re-creating Jack Wade as a
grounded, complex anti-hero who is forced to make tough ethical decisions."
Gameplay puts you in control of both Jack Wade and Leeza X, each with their own
missions and objectives. The game's focus is evenly divided between action and
stealth; the player is given the option to run and gun through levels, or
silently sneak past enemies. Both characters have access to a large arsenal of
weapons, and are capable of switching to melee (hand-to-hand) combat on the fly.
Headhunter: Redemption (PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Xbox; priced at $39.95) is
rated 'M' for mature and is available at retailers nationwide.
