Video Gaming News - September 2002
Bellevue, WA (September 24, 2002) - Sierra Entertainment, Inc., a
studio of the Games division of Vivendi Universal Publishing, today announced
that the Tribes Aerial Assault videogame has shipped to retailers
nationwide. Created exclusively for the PlayStation 2, the Tribes Aerial Assault game is one of the first to use Sony Computer
Entertainment America's network adaptor for PlayStation 2 for online play over
the Internet, allowing up to 16 players from around the world to compete with,
and against, each other in the same game.
From Sierra:
The Tribes Aerial Assault videogame is rated "T" for teen audiences by the
Entertainment Software Review Board (ESRB) and carries a suggested retail price
of $49.99. More information about the game can be found at
http://tribesaa.sierra.com/.
Unlike other shooters, the Tribes Aerial Assault videogame lets players fly
in addition to running and jumping, giving gamers a 3D action experience. The
game provides an arsenal of futuristic weapons, vehicles, and boundless outdoor
arenas in which to do battle.
A true team game, the Tribes Aerial Assault game lets players assume
different roles and play different kinds of games, including the
all-time-favorite, Capture the Flag. Players can also get the full Tribes
experience offline with a full single-player campaign, or play any of the online
game types with computer-controlled players.
