Video Gaming News - September 2002
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (September 3, 2002) - Xicat Interactive has
announced ChopLifter: Search and Rescue. Based on the original game from the
early 1980’s, Xicat will deliver a new helo-rescue game. ChopLifter:
Search and Rescue, due for release October 15, joins Xicat’s growing list of
adventure aviation titles such as Jane's Attack Squadron and Iron Aces.
"ChopLifter is a great remake of one of gaming's best-selling and most
popular franchises. We’ve taken the original premise of the game (a rescue
chopper saving lives) and added every bell and whistle you could possibly want.
It’s an amazingly real and very cool game", says Bradley Flack, Director at
Sales of Xicat Interactive. "Retail response was excellent with early viewings
of ChopLifter. We’re excited that WalMart has already placed a sizable order,"
says Flack.
From Xicat Interactive:
ChopLifter: Search and Rescue puts players through a series of gut-wrenching
rescue missions that test both their flying skills and their ability to handle
the incredible pressure of having lives on the line. Players choose from six
different helicopters, each has realistic flight physics and flight
characteristics of the actual chopper, and all have true to life cockpit views
with moving gauges and working mechanisms. Based on skill level, player’s
progress through 18 missions ranging from saving victims of a hotel fire, a
volcano, a flood, a tornado and mountaintop plane crash. And if that’s not
enough, the developers have made it all the more challenging for players by
adding unpredictable weather conditions.
With billowing smoke blocking your view and flames licking at your blades,
you have to get in close. Only inches separate being the hero from becoming a
food processor. With ChopLifter: Search and Rescue, lives are on the line,
including yours. Available for PlayStation2® on October 15, 2002 (rating
pending).
