New York, NY (June 22, 2005) - MTV2 today announced the return of
Video Mods this Friday, June 24th at 8 PM.
From MTV2:
By mixing some of today’s most popular video games and characters with the
latest music videos and artists, each episode of Video Mods represents a
breakthrough in entertainment by providing an entirely new experience for music
and video game fans alike.
On deck for the premiere episode of this season’s Video Mods: Franz
Ferdinand’s hit “Take Me Out” is reconstructed with the Star Wars: Episode III
Revenge of the Sith video game; Sum 41’s “Pieces” is overhauled with Destroy All
Humans!, Good Charlotte’s “Predictable” features Darkwatch and My Chemical
Romance’s “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” is recreated with Death Jr. In addition,
for the first time ever Video Mods will feature Machinima – Breaking Benjamin’s
“So Cold” music video based on Half-Life 2. In upcoming episodes, MTV2’s Video
Mods takes on videos from the Beastie Boys, Ciara, Yellowcard, Taking Back
Sunday, and The Killers with games like NBA Street V3, Medal of Honor European
Assault, Dance Dance Revolution, Silent Hill, and Lineage II: the Chaotic
Chronicle.
“The new season of Video Mods is going to bring the worlds of music videos,
animation and game development together in a completely inventive fashion,”
stated Alex Coletti, Executive Producer, MTV2. “By combining some of our
audience’s biggest passions, we’re extending the life of some of the most
popular video games and characters through the world of music and is
representative of the type of programming that we strive for at MTV2.”
