Video Gaming News - April 2004

Redmond, WA (April 13, 2004) - Microsoft announced today that the new Bungie.net site has been launched and will soon have new Halo 2 screenshots and Meet the Bungie Team contest.

From Microsoft:

What is the most anticipated release from Bungie Studios this year? Yep! You guessed it, the launch of the new Bungie.net. (There's also that little game they are working on...) Bungie, the development studio that brought gamers the award-winning Haloâ and is currently developing the highly anticipated Halo 2 for Xboxâ, today announced the relaunch of the popular Bungie.net site (http://www.bungie.net/). New content, new technology and a new layout will make it easier for fans to get their fill of Halo and Bungie information. Xbox Live™ gamers can link their gamertags to their Bungie.net accounts, which grants them instant access to their Xbox Live Friends Lists while browsing the new Bungie.net. More importantly, this link to Xbox Live is merely a taste of a much more integrated Halo 2, Xbox Live and Bungie.net experience; details of which will be revealed at a later date.

During launch week, Bungie will use the site to unveil two exclusive new Halo 2 screenshots along with more never-before-seen (or heard) cool stuff from the game. In addition, Bungie.net will sport a newly revamped "History of Bungie" feature, an interview with Bungie Studios co-founder and Halo 2 project lead Jason Jones, screenshots from Halo's earliest days, team profile pages and a whole lot more to keep fans busy for weeks to come. Also, fans can take a peek around Bungie's studios, courtesy of multiple webcams, while reading the latest posts in the updated forums from fellow gamers and Bungie's team.

For those fans who can't get enough of life inside Bungie, there will be a "Meet the Bungie Team" contest. The grand prize is a trip to Redmond, WA to meet the Bungie team and get a sneak peek at Halo 2. Runner-up prizes include an autographed special-edition Halo Xbox console, and more. The contest is open only to Bungie.net members who are over 18 years of age old are US residents.
