Tech Attacks often determine if you will win or lose a battle. The number of these attacks are restricted by the amount of Tech Points you have. One challenge will be finding a way to keep you team's Tech Points as full as possible for the big battles.

You perform Tech Attacks by pressing the B Button in conjunction with a Control Stick direction. Before or during a battle, you can go to the Tech menu to associate a special attack your character has learned with a Control Stick direction. You can reassign special attacks during battle if they aren't damaging the enemy. So nix that Fireball spell if you're battling a creature made of fire, OK?

Lloyd's special attacks are mostly juiced-up physical attacks. Others in your party rely much more on casting elemental spells.

Tech moves can restore HP. For example, the First Aid spell costs only eight Tech Points, yet restores 30% of a character's health. Heal spells can be cast at any time, not just in battle. Open up the Tech menu, go to your healer's chart, highlight the spell you wish to use, press the A button and select a party member to heal.
