Big rigs will also present you with a money making opportunity. RU Haul is a
friendly little shipping company in the rolling hills west of Los Santos. The
owner there is always happy to get an extra driver and pay him in cash for
towing some cargo. Any time you’re looking for work, RU Haul is a good place to
go. While the lower level jobs are well-paying, to make some serious money
you’ll want to move some “hot” goods – just make sure the police don’t catch you
in the act. Deliveries are always time-sensitive, so to earn your full pay
you’ll need to make sure that you get the cargo to its destination in time.
If you’ve had enough country driving you can compete in one of the many
off-road 4x4 or big air motocross races. Find Mount Chiliad and get to the top –
hint: biking it is faster than hiking – you’ll find a race that starts at the
summit. Don’t try this race until you’ve got your mountain biking skill nice and
high because this race is not for beginners or wimps. The race follows a winding
track down the mountain and you’ll be racing at very high speeds while dodging
numerous obstacles. This kind of racing doesn’t attract the most sportsmanlike
competitors, so you’ll need to make sure that they don’t push you over or even
knock you off of the mountain. Finish first and you’ll be crowned the mountain
biking king of San Andreas!
In addition to all of the land-based vehicles, San Andreas will include a
whole range of airborne craft as well. Planes are not just a thrill ride in the
game; they’ll actually play a role in it as well. You’ll be able to fly high
above the countryside and travel between the cities much faster than you ever
could by car. Plane handling has been vastly improved for San Andreas and to
show off the new capabilities of the game you’ll be able to get into the cockpit
of a biplane crop duster. With this plane you’ll be able to do barrel rolls,
hammerheads, and even full loops. You’ll now have instrumentation such as an
altimeter and attitude meter so you’ll be able to keep track of where you are as
you pull off back to back maneuvers.
