| All cleaned up and ready to go. |
Of course San Andreas will still let you carjack any ride that you see go by;
this is a Grand Theft Auto game after all. However, taking a car will not be as
easy as it used to be. The residents of San Andreas are used to dealing with car
thieves and will fight to keep their cars. Instead of always simply pulling the
driver away from the wheel, you’ll have to resort to more forceful measures. For
example, you may need to kick, punch, pistol-whip, or bash the head of the
driver into the dashboard of their car before you can make off with a vehicle.
The street savvy population of San Andreas is so used to accidents,
shootings, and other mayhem on the roadways that they don’t always bother to
repair the damage to their vehicles. You’ll need to be careful not to jack a car
with a broken window or that is trailing its bumper, and don’t be surprised to
see a door full of bullet holes when you try to jack a car.
San Andreas is a dry and dusty state, so keeping cars clean is no easy feat.
You’ll see plenty of filthy cars driving the streets and those that aren’t
filthy soon will be. Dirt will build up on the wheel wells, body, and any
damaged spots on the car as you drive and even the windshield will become dirty
– especially if you cut through parks and dirty alleys. To help you keep your
car clean there are plenty of car washes in San Andreas. When your car gets too
dirty to stand, you can pop into a car wash and drive out with a shiny, spotless
car.
