"Very few RPG's like this one come along once in a great while, and when they do, I am utterly ecstatic.

Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is a game that will snare your attention from the very moment you pick up the paddle. I sat down for the first time to play it about 49 hours ago, and have taken only minimal breaks for things like food and sleep.

It's an extremely addictive game with a very involving storyline, filled to the brim with memorable characters, and capped off with fluid graphics and music. I think this game is seriously the unsung hero of Playstation 2, and ranks to be among the best out there.

It's smooth graphics are a very nice quality, despite what some critics are saying. The sound and music is also one of it's good qualities, working together with the scenery to set the perfect mood.

Unlike other RPG's, this one actually uses an electric guitar with the music, and not just the synthesized sounds. Yes, those sounds are good, but are bland after a while and using the guitar gives life back to it.

Very memorable characters are another quality, with personalities shaped by their culture and experiences. This isn't limited to the main characters either, because the creators had obviously poured effort into each and every one of the characters.

Also, it has one of the best, if not THE best battle system out there for Rpg's. The only battle system I liked just as much as this one was Grandia II (Another fantastic RPG). It's not too constrictive in terms of freedom of movement, unlike Final Fantasy, yet keeps to the basis of strategy inheritant in a good RPG.

The true gem of the game is its storyline. You will have absolutely no idea what will happen next, and you will be missing out HARD if you try to deflower yourself early with saucy details of the story. As Darc, the constant paranoia of betrayal from your allies is in the back of your mind, making you feel like Darc himself would. As Kharg, the inner pride you feel swelling in your chest when you see the valiance of your friends will put you in his shoes.

Anyone who doesn't see this game as anything but a masterpiece should be dragged out into the streets and pistol-whipped. Arc The Lad is stimulating to every aspect of your mind and soul, and is a MUST HAVE for ANY collection." - Michael
