"When it comes to video games, I am horribly picky. The trailer may make me
drown in my own drool, but if the storyline and character design contains any
flaws, then I will not touch the game with a ten-foot-pole (Kingdom Hearts, a
perfect example.) Although I do own games that have a few flaws only because the
music is what changed my mind.
If you look at my collection of both PS1 and PS2, it’s obvious that I prefer the
Action/Adventure and RPG type of video game and that I have a very limited
amount of horror genre. But with my purchase of THE SUFFERING, that changed
quickly and the poor game looks so out of place, but is nonetheless, welcomed.
THE SUFFERING, is unlike any horror game I have ever played, not only did it
frighten me in areas, But this game literally screwed with my mind with each
minute play, and unlike resident evil, I was scared to death at what I would
find down the hall or around the next corner as the monsters would change both
appearance, and size. One creature, called: ‘The Slayer’ was the one I favored
the most, for it was this creature that I forced Torque to flee from… especially
in the later chapters.
I found myself, dying on purpose so that I could scribble down the introduction
‘letters’ shown while the game would load each new level.
I do hope, that soon they will produce a soundtrack and a series of statue-isque
toys.
I rate this game: A+ " - Saccage
"I'm about halfway through now, just arrived at the asylum. The game is
awesome! It has just the right amount of insanity, angst and sickness combined
to creep me the fuxk out.
Especially the voices and halucinations add up to the experience for me. I've
tried playing it by myself when everyone went to bed and stuff, but it was just
too damn scary to be plated at night. A must-play for everyone into this kind of
game." - Freudian
