I'm not quite sure what to make of SingStar Vol. 2.  Here you have a game released less than a year after its predecessor and that doesn't really add all that much to the game beyond its 30 new songs - and these songs are added to a game that already supports downloadable tracks.  This is even odder when you take into account the fact that those who own the first game won't be able to download the tracks from this volume and vice-versa.  I though that the whole online and expandable track collection features were supposed to eliminate the issue of swapping discs and relaunching games when you wanted to jump to a new track.  OK, technically the game adds a couple of new features in that you can manage your track lists remotely from your PSP and the duets now support a harmony track.  Of these two features, the first is of dubious value unless you need to have the party ready to go the moment you get home and so are forced to queue up your playlists while sitting at Starbuck's or something.  The second adds a nice new option to the game, but couldn't this have been released as a patch to the first game?  As well as simply releasing the 30 tracks on this disc to the music store?  The issue here is that you're essentially paying to purchase 30 new songs, but you have to buy them all in a package whether you like them or not.  At least on the online store you can only pay for the tracks that you want to buy.

I doubt that everyone will want to buy both SingStar and SingStar Vol.2.  If you're interested, I recommend that you read my review of the first game first since not all that much has changed, have a look at the track lists for both games, and then purchase the one that has more songs that appeal to you.  If you want to expand your song collection after that, you're probably better off picking only the songs that you like from the online store.

In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated: 68%. There's not that much more here aside from 30 new tracks for the game that are not available from the online store.
