Controls during the main game remain solid for the most part. There were some mistimed jumps but that is to be expected in a platformer. Mini games control sluggishly as times, especially when it comes to the jetboard racing mini game - combine the sluggish controls with a bad camera during a particular race and it becomes quite frustrating. Thankfully, many of the mini games are optional so this never does become much of an issue.
Size Matters still has that perfect cast of voice actors that we have come to expect with each Ratchet and Clank installment. The voices fit each character and characters will shoot out some dialogue that will eventually hit your funny bone much like you would expect. The overall soundtrack matches each stage well. The beginning stage has a tropical type music that completely matches its beach setting. Many of the other stages have this same appeal.
The game is really no longer than an average PSP game - about 6 hours - but there are plenty of unlockable skins and other items to find. There is also a nifty little multiplayer game that allows two players to join up and retrieve power cells. I'd easily recommend a rental or perhaps a buy - it all depends on what all you are willing to do in the game. Overall, it offers a good experience for any action fan either way.
The Good:
+ Many weapons
+ Overall good graphics
+ Challenging gameplay
+ Plenty of unlockables
+ Multiplayer games
The Bad:
- Environments sometimes don't match up with other PS2 titles graphically
- Mini-games don't feel polished like the rest of the game
- Camera angles can sometimes make battles harder than they should be
Graphics: 8.0
Controls: 8.0
Sound: 9.0
Gameplay: 9.0
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
85%. Even on the PS2, Size Matters still plays just as well as its PSP counterpart. This solid game still remains just as solid.
