ESPionage is an upcoming action game that features a powerful weapon not
found in other games - your mind. As a Psi-Operative you will have a
number of psychic, or Psi, powers at your disposal to solve puzzles and dispatch
enemies. We had the opportunity to ask ESPionage's producers, Brian Eddy
and Alexander Offermann, a few questions about the game and here's what they had
to tell us...

| The mind is a terrible weapon to waste. |
Please tell us a bit about the game’s story. Is it set in the future
or in the present day? Who are the terrorists that players will be
fighting?
We really don’t want to give too much away about the story yet because we are
pretty excited about it and don’t want to spoil it for players. However, I can
tell you that the overall story it is set in the not too distant future of 2030,
and as players progress through the game they will find a great back-story
(which starts in the 8th century AD and explains the real reasons behind the
World Wars, the Cold War and the space race). The main characters memory has
been wiped in order to infiltrate the enemy. Throughout the game he will uncover
his past abilities and memory. The abilities are repressed Psychic (Psi) mental
powers that are an integral part of the game story and game-play.
The game’s protagonist is an American Psi-Operative. What is a Psi-Operative?
In real life most major governments have maintained groups of Psi-Operatives
that take part in a variety of covert activities. This fact has been largely
kept secret, but occasionally information gets leaked (the truth is out there,
just look on the Internet). In fact, as I mentioned before, many of the major
events and conflicts in human history were at their core part of a struggle to
develop stronger Psi-Operatives and new Psi-powers. Conventional, biological,
and nuclear weapons all pale in comparison to the powers of the human mind, and
Psi-Operatives are people that have such power.
