The Symbol of the Mandate

Requirements: In Act II, select Battle of Hu Lao Gate first.

There has been a lot of confusion regarding obtaining the Imperial Seal in
this stage. You can find it in one of three ways. First, you can wait until
Dong Zhuo finds it and take it from him. Second, you can wait for 27 minutes
for the Seal to appear automatically. Or third, you can smash all 99 boxes
and the Seal will appear. Now that I've manually written down the locations
of all the boxes on the stage, I find that it's easier to just find them all.
Forget what Sun Jian says about stealth. If I wanted to be stealthy I would
play Tenchu instead. Trust me on this one. Go ahead and attack Zhang Liao. He
will alert everyone else to your presence, and Li Jue and Diao Chan will
start heading for you. Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo will appear as well. Go ahead and
take them all out. For some reason Lu Bu is much weaker than he was at Hu Lao
Gate. Once they are all defeated, take out all the remaining enemies in the
area. Try not to hit any of the boxes just yet if you want to follow the
guide I listed below. Once everyone is gone, you can proceed to hunt down the
elusive Imperial Seal.

Northwest corner (4 boxes): There are two boxes in the corner and two more a
little further south.
Southwest corner (3 boxes)
Large center building (2 boxes): To the right of the large building.
Northeast corner (3 boxes)

Northwest corner (4 boxes)
Near the north entry point (3 boxes)
Small house in the northeast (5 boxes): Two should be near the wall and three
south of the house.
Two small houses near the middle (2 boxes): One should be north of each one.
Southeast corner (3 boxes)
House south of the house in the northwest (2 boxes)
Two rectangular houses in the southwest (5 boxes): Two should be above the
north house and three should be by the left side of the south house.

#SOUTHWEST AREA (25 boxes total)#

Northwest corner (7 boxes): Three are in the corner, and four are south
between the two wall protrusions.
Left of the north gate (3 boxes)
Southwest corner (6 boxes)
Southeast corner (3 boxes)
South large building (6 boxes): Two boxes each on each side of the north
stairs. Two boxes to the right of the building.

#SOUTHEAST AREA (35 boxes total)#

Northwest corner (7 boxes)
Large house near the northwest corner (3 boxes): Two are near the northeast
corner of the house. One is a little further away next to a vendor stall.
Southwest near west gate (2 boxes)
Near south entry point (3 boxes)
Southeast corner (4 boxes): Two are a little further from the corner area.
Two vertical rectangular houses to east (2 boxes): North of the left house.
Northeast corner (9 boxes)
Area left to the northeast corner (5 boxes): There are four boxes near the
vendor stalls. One is a little more left of the area.

So where are the remaining 3 boxes you may ask? These boxes only appear when
a scout mentions a location that may have the Imperial Seal. These boxes are
red in color and _do_ count towards the total boxes. While they don't have
the Seal they do contain a random item. If you have all 96 boxes and the
scouts don't report anything you may have to wander around the area a bit
before they do. Here's the location of the three special box locations.

Northeast area: Up the stairs on the east wall of the area.
Southeast area: Southwest corner.
Northeast area: Northeast corner.
Once you have all 99 boxes the Imperial Seal will appear in a special box in
the northwest area in the northwest corner. Congratulations! Let's do it
again!
