The puzzles and enemies in the game are not necessarily your biggest challenge in the game. Your control over Blitz is not especially tight and there will be moments of frustration when he doesn’t quite go where you want him to. Blitz’s grabbing arms are also too short and you’ll knock objects forward by accident as often as you’ll actually grab them. The controls are also hampered by the game’s obsession with modeling real world physics, The physics are cool when you toss a barrel down a conveyer belt and watch it bounce around before it settles down, but not when you’re trying to move a box with its corner dragging along the ground or you get stuck trying to go up a ramp because you don’t have enough speed to get over a little lip at the top. Then there are the boosters that kick in when you click the left stick… or rather when you tap the left stick. I lost count of the number of times that the boost accidentally kicked in and sent me to my doom.

RoboBlitz has its moments, but the overall fun factor is limited by the control issues and by the fact that the puzzles are a bit too much on the simple side making them sometimes feel more like chores than mental exercises. Still, you get a lot of gameplay for the money considering that this is an Xbox Live Arcade game, and the use of the Unreal engine easily makes it one of the best looking games available on XBLA.

In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated: 72%. A little more challenge to the puzzles and a little less emphasis on realism in the physics department would have helped make RoboBlitz a better game.
