This character uses all 19 of the main poses!
==========
Microgames
==========
-----------------
Wiipeat After Me!
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Remote Control / The Umbrella
Objective: Copy the Wiimote positions shown on screen.
Variations:
Level 1 - Two positions.
Level 2 - Three positions.
Level 3 - Three vertical positions.
Strategy: Copy the 3D positions of the Wiimote in order. From either the Remote
Control or Umbrella (flat or vertical) just rotate or flip the
remote in sequence; you can see the next one ahead so once you have
performed the current one you can quickly do the next one to speed up
proceedings. Only level three starts off from The Umbrella.
Obstacles: None.
Other notes: If you pass then the Wiimote will join an army of Wii consoles!
--------------------
Super Mario Brothers
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Umbrella
Objective: Collect two coins!
Variations:
Level 1 - Standing Super Mario.
Level 2 - Running Super Mario.
Level 3 - Running Normal Mario with Obstacles.
Strategy: Jump up with the Wiimote by jerking upward to hit the ? blocks and
get coins. You just need two to pass each one. The second and third
levels have Mario moving across the stage, so time you jumps to hit
the ? blocks amongst the rest of the normal bricks. Level three
has you controlling normal 'small' Mario, plus you have to dodge
Goombas and pits.
Obstacles: Goombas and Pits (Level Three Only).
Other notes: From Super Mario Bros. (1987, NES)
------------
Light Tennis
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Finger Food
Objective: Don't concede a goal!
Variations:
Level 1 - Small goals.
Level 2 - Screen wide goals.
Level 3 - Wall in the centre.
Strategy: With the Wiimote sideways pointing at the screen, turn it like a
nob to make the bat go up and down the screen. Make sure you hit the
ball otherwise you'll conceed a goal. For level two the goal is
screen wide and for level three there is a gappy wall in the centre
which can make the ball come back to you, so stay on your toes.
Obstacles: None.
Other notes: From Light Tennis (Colour TV - Game 6, 1977)
---------------
Animal Crossing
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Remote Control
Objective: Fish in the river and get a catch!
Variations:
Level 1 - One fish.
Level 2 - One patient fish.
Level 3 - Two patient fish.
Strategy: With the Wiimote facing the TV screen wait until the fish approaches
the bobber and ONLY when the water starts splashing jerk upward to
land the fish. The later levels have you waiting a bit longer but
just hold on until that splash before you reel them in.
Obstacles: None.
Other notes: A variety of fish can be caught. From Animal Crossing: Wide World
(Nintendo DS, 2006).
-------------
Opening Night
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Remote Control
Objective: Conduct the orchestra to finish the song!
Variations:
Level 1 - Three players (songs two measures long).
Level 2 - Five players (songs four measures long)
Level 3 - Seven players (songs four measures long).
Strategy: Wave the Wiimote like a baton in front of the screen to make them
play. Keep pointing toward the screen and wave back and forth
gentally; if you break to early then they will stop so go back and
continue. You'll have to do it a bit faster in the later levels.
Heffenfeffer has some great tips for this microgame -
"As a former band geek, even I had trouble with this one until I
figured out the tricks. I can't imagine how folks with no band or
orchestra experience would feel.
First off, all the songs are in 4/4 time, so they're all conducted
the same way.
Secondly, the length of the song depends on the level (see above).
Third, to conduct, follow this pattern:
4 <^
2 < 1 > 3
v
That is, swing down on beat 1, left on beat 2, right on beat 3, and
left and up on beat 4 (so that you're above center and can swing down
for beat 1 again.)"
Obstacles: None.
Other notes: The initial three playing are Mario, Luigi and Link, then
Toad and Kid Icarus join in, and finally Peach and DK all in NES
graphics. The songs are as follows (thanks to Heffenfeffer again
for these) -
Level 1:"How high can you get?" theme from Donkey Kong, Boss
defeated fanfare from Super Mario Bros. 3, Death theme from
Super Mario Bros. 3, "You got a card" fanfare from Super Mario
Bros. 3, Super Mario Bros. 1 theme/death medley, Theme #2 from
Super Mario Bros. 3.
Level 2: I don't recognize any of these. (Matt - Tetris?)
Level 3: Theme from Clu Clu Land, Super Mario Bros. 1 "Thank you,
but our princess is in another castle!" fanfare, Theme from The
Legend of Zelda, Theme from Kid Icarus."
------------------
WarioWare Twisted!
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Chauffeur
Objective: Rotate the Wiimote like you would when playing Twisted! on the
Game Boy Advance!
Variations:
Level 1 - Gobble!
Level 2 - Shave!
Level 3 - Flip!
Strategy: For level one, move it left and right twice to make the arm pick up
and eat the kittens. For level two, rotate it round each side of the
face to get rid of the man's stubble. Finally for level three,
turn the Wiimote upside down to make his hat fall off.
Obstacles: None.
Other notes: From WarioWare Twisted! (GameBoy Advance, 2004). On level 3
(Flip! the hat off) if you flip back to normal position the hat
will come back down and through the GBA! Thanks to Heffenfeffer
for this piece of trivia.
----------
Wario Land
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Boxer
Objective: Throw the enemy at another!
Variations:
Level 1 - Destroy the block.
Level 2 - Destroy the enemy.
Level 3 - Guard against the falling enemy.
Strategy: Raise up the Wiimote to lift up the enemy and jerk it right to
throw it. Do this for the first two levels, whereas for level three
just raise up the enemy in the air as one will fall on top of you,
but as long as you have one raised you are guarded against it.
Obstacles: None.
Other notes: From Wario Land (Game Boy, 1994).
--------------------
Game & Watch Octopus
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Discard
Objective: Take the treasure!
Variations:
Level 1 - Already at treasure chest.
Level 2 - Close to the treasure chest.
Level 3 - Far from the treasure chest.
Strategy: When the Game & Watch Man is at the chest, pick up the Wiimote.
Levels two and three will have him walking around for a while before
he properly approaches it so just wait until he has his hand in
before picking it up.
Obstacles: None.s
Other notes: From Octopus, Game & Watch (1981)
-------------
Balloon Fight
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Big Cheese
Objective: Flap your arms to fly across the stage!
Variations:
Level 1 - Sparkballs as obstacles.
Level 2 - Sparkballs and fish as obstacles.
Level 3 - Sparkballs, fish and other Balloon Fighters as obstacles.
Strategy: Flap your arm (or just wave the Wiimote up and down) to fly onward.
The position of the obstacles are random, especially the sparkballs
so if you are flying around them try and fly above in later stages to
avoid the fish, and in level three with the other Balloon Fighter
avoid touching him apart from his balloon, which you can pop if you
wish.
Obstacles: Sparkballs (all levels), fish (levels 2 and 3) and Fighters (lvl 3).
Other notes: From Balloon Fight (NES, 1987)

Pose: The Waiter
Objective: Roll Samus in to the barrel!
Variations:
Level 1 - Barrel positioned directly in front.
Level 2 - Barrel positioned somewhere in front.
Level 3 - Barrel positioned behind the blip.
Strategy: Tilt your hand forward to roll Samus in that direction toward the
barrel. In the second and third stages you'll have to go to the sides
as well. You need a bit of speed in order to knock it over, so get
a decentish run up as well.

Level 2 - One jumping Pikmin.
Level 3 - Pikmin either side.
Strategy: Roll the Wiimote to roll over and crush the Pikmin. For level 1 just
roll across to the far side of the screen to take them all down.
For level 2 roll slightly toward the one Pikmin for it to jump over
you, then roll the other way to squash him good. For the third and
final level, roll one way then quickly to the other side of the
screen to complete.
Obstacles: None.
Other notes: From Pikmin 2 (GameCube, 2004).

Pose: The Waiter
Objective: Low five the pooches!
Variations:
Level 1 - One dog to low five.
Level 2 - Two dogs to low five.
Level 3 - Two stammering dogs to low five.
Strategy: Point the Wiimote at the screen to control the hand and move it
underneath the dog so his paw hits yours. For the second and third
levels, which ever dog raises its paw position underneath for the
five, however on the third level they may 'fake' and put their pay
down quickly instead so be prepared to adjust quickly.

Other notes: From Nintendogs (Nintendo DS, 2005).

Level 1 - Wind is going with you.
Level 2 - Wind is going across you.
Level 3 - Wind is going more across you, two platforms to choose from.

general direction and nudge against the wind to ensure you land
correctly. Although there are two platforms on level three, the
nearest one is usually the easiest one.
Obstacles: None.
Other notes: From The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GameCube, 2003).

Level 2 - Enemies and black holes.
Level 3 - Plenty of enemies and black holes.
Strategy: Point in the direction you wish to go, and just walk around the
oncoming enemies whilst keeping an eye out for the purple swirls on
the ground (black holes). Later it gets faster and the lines of
enemies widen, but just go to the extreme edges and as long as you
reach the finish line you'll pass (you don't have to go over the
middle section).
Obstacles: Spike enemies, black holes.
Other notes: From Clu Clu Land (1987, NES).

--------------------
BOSS STAGE: Starwing
-----------------------------------------
Pose: The Chauffeur
Objective: Play stages from Starwing; head through the stage and defeat the
boss!
Variations:
Level 1 - Planet Corneria.
Level 2 - Outer space level.
Level 3 - Ice Planet.
Strategy: To play, hold the Wiimote with the pointer facing left and tilt it
from side to side to move left and right, and up and down to
more up and down (simple eh?) as well as either A or B to shoot.
Level One has you going through the opening planet of Starwing,
Corneria, so just dodge the buildings and keep shooting to take down
enemies (just so they are out of the way but just aim to get to the
end of the stage). The boss is none other than R.O.B with a NES
Zapper! Wait until he stops shooting and shoot at the green block
to his side until he is destroyed.
Level Two is in outer space, where you must dodge plenty of
crosses and lines in order to reach the boss. Stick to one of the
extreme sides of corners is easiest as there is minimal obstacles
but you still need to move now and again, and only go after enemies
if they are in your way. The boss is R.O.B again with this time with
a red and green block; just take your time and stay low to avoid
his shots. The blocks will turn grey after a while where you cannot
shoot them so just wait until they are flashing colours again before
having another pop.
Level Three is at an ice planet, where you have giant ice blocks
in your path. Stay at the top of the screen as they thin out toward
the top and make it easier to get through. The enemies are a bit
tougher too, with flyers appearing in the passages and tall walkers
in the way (you can shoot the flashing diamond several times to kill
them but it's far easier just to ignore). After a long ish stage,
R.O.B comes back one last time with four blocks (yellow and blue at
the back now) so dodge his shots until they become active (stay low)
and then let rip.
Obstacles: Enemies, buildings and blocks.
Other notes: From Starwing (SNES, 1993). Note this is called Starwing in the
UK due to copyright reasons, so in the US and Japanese versions
this is probably called Star Fox.
