As for aerial enemies, the battles are more exciting and dynamic, but also a
bit harder to manage. Rather than fighting these enemies in wide open skies
you’ll duel them in canyons which means you’ll constantly be up against walls
and the ground itself as you try to swoop around your enemy.
With Eragon on your back your given an extra pair of attacks from his bow and
magical spells. When dueling another dragon rider, you also get the bonus of
being able to leap on the enemy dragon’s back in an attempt to knock its rider
down. These duels are where the game is at its best and it can be quite
satisfying to win a duel by dismounting your enemy.
The game is most enjoyable in the challenge missions or Ad Hoc multiplayer,
although it does suffer from the lack of room to maneuver and the complicated
control scheme. The story missions can be frustrating because the objectives are
not always clear and it can sometimes be tedious to track down every last little
enemy scurrying around on the ground. If you’re an Eragon fan you may enjoy the
chance to ride the back of Saphira, but otherwise you need to be a bit patient
and forgiving of the game’s more frustrating aspects if you’re to enjoy it.
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
67%. Eragon will appeal more to those with dreams
of dragon riding than those simply looking for a good action game.
