| A little help from your spirit guide. |
If this sounds to you like it makes the game easier, well, you’re right, but
it’s not really any different than quick saving/loading your way through a game.
What really makes the game easier than most first-person shooters is that the
enemies are not very aggressive and tend to have issues with their aim. One
would think that an alien race of hunter/harvesters would have some pretty tough
foot soldiers, but that’s not the case here. If you’re looking for a challenging
game then this could be a problem for you. Personally I found the game to be
interesting and enjoyable enough to keep me playing in spite of the ease with
which I was able to make my way through the alien ship.
Probably the single biggest disappointment with Prey is the multiplayer game.
You get the barebones deatchmatch and team deathmatch modes and that’s it.
What’s more is that these modes only support eight players at a time. Even with
the stripped down multiplayer support, lag can be a real headache and it can at
times be difficult to find a match to join. In short, if you’re looking for
great multiplayer action, then you’ll need to look elsewhere.
All in all, Prey’s novelty, story, and presentation all make it an easy game
to recommend. As long as you aren’t looking for a challenge or good multiplayer
support you’ll enjoy the time you spend with the game. And isn’t fun what it’s
supposed to be all about?
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
87%. Prey is without question my favorite Native American versus alien
invader game ever.
