| Tourist Trophy is one great looking racer. |
In addition to the races there are challenges that are each tied to a
specific motorcycle. Win the challenge and you win that bike. There’s not really
much in the way of variety to the challenges – they all pretty much require you
to overtake another motorcycle within a specified number of laps and hold your
lead for a short time. Before too long a feeling of “been there, done that” does
tend to set in…
Tourist Trophy also lets you spend some time tweaking your bikes. Gear
ratios, brakes, and shocks are a few of the components that you can play around
with on your bikes and the settings do have a noticeable affect on the
performance of the bikes. You won’t be able to upgrade individual parts, though.
Graphically the game looks really good. The bikes are incredibly detailed and
the riders realistically move and lean with their motorcycles. Most of the
tracks have been imported from Gran Turismo 4, so you probably already know that
they look great. The game’s graphics are worth showing off, and so it has a
photo mode similar to that found in GT4. You can take snapshots from a race
replay and save them to your memory card or to a USB drive for se on your PC or
to share over email. One nice feature of this mode is the ability to have the
game run through a race replay and automatically select the most dramatic shots
for you. It does a pretty darn good job of it, too.
Tourist Trophy probably won’t have the universal appeal of GT4, but it is a
competent racer in its own right. If you’re a fan of motorcycles, you’re sure to
enjoy it.
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
82%. Tourist Trophy is Gran Turismo 4 on two wheels.
