It is obvious that BRO had a lot of attention to detail and a lot of quality time went into its creation. In any one scene there are a lot of things happening not only in your immediate area but you can also see battles going on off in the distance. This does a great job of bringing a realistic feel to the game, which counteracts a little the problem I mentioned earlier about the AI not being very creative. While your team might not be fully able to act without you, it is clear that there are many other squads and battles going on out there that don't need you. It's a neat feeling to see another squad in the distance and helps bring about a larger scale.

Nazis. What can you say about them? There are a bunch running around here and they are not always the smartest of soldiers. Their AI and animation are both a little rough. They do have the ability to keep spawning in an area until you complete a mission, and completing missions is sometimes a bit confusing. It's not that the missions are all that difficult, although there are several challenging ones, it's more that sometimes you don't not what they are. Maybe it's because your missions are given during the heat of battle and with all the chaos going on it might be easy not to hear. Whatever the reason I found myself several times bringing up the objectives list because I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing. But I would rather have this problem than to give up the general sense of pandemonium the game brings about.

The controls are well done with little to complain about. The left analog controls movement and the right handles looking around, so nothing out of the ordinary there. You get the expected ability to throw grenades and zoom for more accurate aiming. It may not feel quite as smoothly as a Halo 2, but it handles itself very well.

Naturally you can take this all online and hookup with some friends. I found that once I got into games with more than 10 players I experienced more lag than normal. In all honestly the multiplayer is not the strong point of Big Red One but it isn't bad enough to hurt the game. It's there and it works, but it's not where most of the fun is at.

In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated: 82%. Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is a solid gaming experience with great atmosphere though a little linear.
