X4. Execution Tree [FABLETREE]
==================
Quest Type - Silver
Prereqs - Rescue the Archaeologist
Money - 4,500
Renown - 200
Boasts - No Protection, Without a Scratch, Fist Fighter, Protect Guards
Now take the boasts (or just go to the boasting platform). When you get there
and the lambs, er, villagers, gather slaughter them all. Then move into the
guild, return to the platform, and repeat. Do this about a dozen times, and you
should see some significant movement in your alignment bar (it takes a total of
2,000 points to move from pure neutral to pure evil or good, and you'll grab
about 15 points of evil alignment per dead villager).
Another option would be to teleport over to Twinblade's camp and buy out their
supply of crunchy chicks. Each one you eat will give you 5 evil points. Just
remember to keep at least 45,002 gold in your inventory for the Temple of Avo
(if you haven't already done it).
Use these two techniques until you get your evil bar all the way over to the
left. When you are ready, head for the Temple of Avo.
Temple of Avo
-------------
Compared to the Chapel, the Temple is downright easy. Your first donation
should be 45,000 gold pieces. This will get you the Sentinus, which is a decent
weapon (it has a good damage, but is slow to swing, personally I prefer the
Katana for its speed). Your second and third donations should be for 1 gold
each (the second will drop your age by up to 10 years, and the last donation
will get you a new title of Paladin).
Now, if you haven't done the Chapel, you now need to get your good alignment
all the way maxxed out. Fortunately, this isn't so hard to do. You can eat tofu
(the merchant in Oakvale has a supply), or just kill lots of bandits (try
Witchwood or Darkwood). Just continually go out and back into a region when you
run out of bandits to respawn a new group. It shouldn't take very long to max
out your alignment meter. When you're done, get yourself to the Chapel and do
the previous section to get the bow (and other goodies).
Bowerstone Jail
---------------
We'll finish the quest we took in order to get our boast. You'll remember it
was either the Execution Tree or Execution Tree Rescue. If you took the former,
your job is to escort the prisoner from Bowerstone Jail to Headsman's Hill. The
only tricky bit of this is that during the attacks, the prisoner will make a
break for the nearest exit. If he gets there before you kill all the enemy, the
mission is lost. Try to keep between him and the exit to slow him down. Slow
Time is a good spell to use here.
If you took the rescue mission, you have a set amount of time (once you enter
Bowerstone Jail) to make it to Headsman's Hill and free the prisoner. You can
stop to attack the guards, but don't get too carried away, watch your timer. As
long as you get to the prisoner in time, there's not much too this one either.
Either way, we've ended up at Headsman's Hill. You will notice a flashing gold
icon pointing the way into Lychfield Graveyard. Go there now.
Lychfield Graveyard
-------------------
Work your way to the gravekeeper's house, where you will trigger a cut scene.
Open the chest outside to find a new spade (as if you really need one). Then
talk to the gravekeeper. He leads you over to the gate, but before you go into
the graveyard return to his house to find a style card (the Buzz), an Ages of
Skill potion, and, most importantly, Nostro's Helmet.
While you are in here, you are going to be under constant attack from undead.
But by now you should be able to one-shot them. To the right of where you came
in is a semi-enclosed area, and there are two digging spots (Brom and John and
Sarah Miller's graves) within where you will pick up a Karlan Wings tattoo and
a Howl tattoo. To the left of where you came in is a fishing hole with a silver
key in it.
If you continue along that path, you'll see another enclosure to your left with
a digging spot (Yaggoth Sonnog), where you will pick up Nostro's sword. There
is a crypt nearby (down some stairs, Scoran Daith) that will net you another
silver key.
Next to the crypt is a marker for the Sutter family. Two of the members (James
and Katie) have interesting things to dig up, including a silver key and 250
gold. Head up the incline to find a buried health potion (the Knepp grave).
Just before the bridge you'll find another grave (James Corun) with a digging
spot that will yield 1,000 gold.
At the other end of the bridge you'll see a series of four graves. Tobias
Morn's grave contains a health potion, and another right next to it will give
you a will potion. In the river over which you just passed, you'll find a
fishing spot that will yield up Nostro's Shield.
In another crypt (Lady Fylorn, behind you from your fishing spot) you will
uncover Nostro's armor. Head up the hill. Behind some thorny bushes you'll find
a treasure chest with a fishing rod in it.
Head into the last crypt and talk to old Nostro twice. This will allow you
access through the demon door.
Old Graveyard Path
------------------
In the first part of the area, undead will spawn continuously until you reach a
point where you hear a voice that tells you that you aren't welcome here. Well,
duh. Kill undead until you get bored with them, then make your way to that
point.
Continue on, after you cross the bridge, there's a treasure chest to your right
(Resurrection Phial). Just before the final exit from this area is another
chest that holds a Silver Augmentation.
Circle of the Dead
------------------
Before you enter the light, there are two chests to open (a 10 silver key chest
and a regular one. The regular one is tucked away behind a wall). You will pick
up a Piercing augmentation and a resurrection phial from these chests. When you
are ready, enter the light. Some easy undead will appear, but you can only hit
them when you are in the circle. Once they are down, three more appear. They
are also cake, and work in the same way. When you've defeated them, the way
forward is revealed. This completes the Graveyard Path quest (and gives you a
new trophy to show off, the Undead Hand), and also automatically gives you the
next gold quest.
