Version 1
After four long, hard days of writing, I've finally completely finished the
guide for all of the missions in Call of Duty 2. It probably took me 20-30
hours to finish, but that did include playing through each of the missions as
I wrote the guide for them. I've also spellchecked it and corrected all of the
typo's (which weren't too bad considering there's a good 28,000 words in this
guide), so it should be pretty useful for anyone who's stuck.
I think I need a break from writing now, so I'll go and play through single
player for the third time without needing to pause every few seconds to write
more of the guide. I hope the guide is useful for everyone. It's definitely the
most work I've ever put into my video game walkthroughs. Each mission
walkthrough has an evrage of about 900 words, which is pretty incredible
compared to the 300 or so my CoD1 missions had.
Anyway, enough chatter, hope you find the guide useful, and dont forget to
email me with any tips, questions or errors you've found.

Added all mission names and details, as well as the mission walkthrough for
"El Daba" based on the demo walkthrough I wrote previously. All details about
the missions were found left in the data files on the CoD2 Demo!

Welcome to my guide for Call Of Duty 2. You may or may not know that I have
written full walkthroughs for all Call Of Duty PC games released so far, and I
have decided to continue with this guide. The Call Of Duty series is my most
played gaming franchise ever. I've been playing Call Of Duty, and United
Offensive for pretty much two straight years because of the great replay value
available with multiplayer, but also the very fun single player missions. I
like to think I'm good at the game, so I try my best to help other people out
too with my single player walkthroughs, and hopefully this will be as useful as
I know my previous guides have been. Feel free to check out my clans website
at http://www.GunningForGlory.com where you'll find all sorts of cool stuff
like other guides, modifications, screenshots, downloads, and of course a
fun, active clan. You can post on the forums if you need any help with anything
and someone will be sure to give you some advice. Other than that, just enjoy
the guide and contact me if you need any help, have any advice or want to
correct an error. You MUST email me asking for permission if you wish to host
this guide, and if you are granted permission, you MUST ensure your site is
displaying the most updated version at all times. I will NOT send out updates
to every site that wishes to host my guides, so the latest version will always
be found at GunningForGlory.com or GameFAQs.com. If you are not going to keep
the guide up to date, don't bother asking to host it, as I'll be making a lot
of updates. If you host the guide and it's not kept up to date, I'll ask for
it to be removed. Be warned.

Call Of Duty 2 is the next game in the amazing Call Of Duty series which covers
almost every major battle of World War Two. There are a few new features in
CoD2 which you'll probably need to be made aware of, they are listed below.
The game functions in almost the exact same way as the original Call Of Duty,
so if you've played that, you won't have any trouble getting used to this one.
• New Health System
Call Of Duty 2 doesn't keep the health system from the original games. Instead
of having a set value of health which you will lose or replenish with health
packs, this time you have no indication of your current health. This may seem
strange at first, however once you get used to it, it's really quite simple. To
put it in it's most basic form, you have "infinite health". You won't die by
getting shot multiple times, even without picking up health packs. Instead, you
die from taking a lot of damage in a small amount of time. When you get hit
hard, an indicator will appear on the screen, and you'll feel your heart rate
increasing and so on. During this time you need to find some cover and rest.
Stay safe for about five seconds or so and you'll regain your health and be
good to go. Because of this, you could take hundreds of hits throughout
missions, but if you stay in cover and heal yourself enough, you can make it
through without dying. Not really the most realistic feature that could have
been added, but it certainly changes the way you need to play the game. Running
and gunning will usually easily get you killed. You need to go slowly.
• Mantle System
CoD2 gives you the option to jump over / onto small obstacles in front of you
in a sort of scripted event. Sometimes you can't jump high enough, or the game
just won't let you jump over certain things, but if you stand next to an object
and you see a small curved arrow symbol type thing, then pushing the jump key
will allow you to climb over it.
• Grenade Indicator
When an enemy, or even an allied grenade is thrown near you, an indicator will
appear on the screen showing you which direction it's located in. Always make
sure you find cover in the opposite direction of the arrow unless you want to
be blown up.
• Ammo Display
Along with many of the on screen displays, the ammo display will fade after a
few seconds if you're not using your gun. To see how much ammo you have in your
gun and to bring up the display, simply press the reload button.
• Compass
When you spot an enemy, or your squad mates shout out where one is, a red dot
will appear on your compass showing the location of the enemy soldier. This is
useful if you're being shot at and don't know where from.
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the way Call of Duty 2 has been made, without as many linear approaches
to missions, for the most part it will depend on how you play through the
mission as to how well the guide will work for you. I can't go into a lot of
detail about each section of each mission because as I stated before, the way
the AI and the game has been designed, things can and do change depending on
the players choices. I'll give a basic run down of each mission, which should
be able to help enough in those tricky situations. I finished the game on
Veteran before writing this guide, so I'm aware of exactly where the hard
parts of the game are, and the best way of getting past them. If the guide is
based on Veteran, then it can only be easier for the other difficulties.
ALSO NOTE:
There is a section in the guide explaining which weapons you get for each
mission. These generally vary depending on which weapons you had at the end of
the previous mission. The only way I was able to get the exact weapons everyone
would have was to use the "Restart Mission" option in game. When you use this,
you'll start the mission with default weapons. Please do not email me informing
me that the weapons are wrong, it's another non-linear feature that has been
included by Infinity Ward.
