Return to Liberty City before it all began in Grand Theft Auto 3. Grand Theft
Auto 4 for the PS2? No, this is Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for the
PSP and it won’t be some water downed portable version of the game either.
You’ll get the full living, breathing Liberty City you’ve come to know and love
in GTA3, just now it fits in the palm of your hands.

| Tony is armed and looking good. |
The game takes place three years prior to the events of GTA 3. Once again you
take on the role of wise guy Toni Cipriani. Toni has just returned to Liberty
City after having been forced into exile for killing a made man as a favor to
mob boss Salvatore Leone. Things have now quieted down and Leone has welcomed
Toni back and has put him back to work as a mob soldier…
As you can guess from the storyline, this is an all new GTA game. The story
and missions are new, and you can expect to meet new characters, gangs, and even
hear new music as you try to rule the streets of Liberty City and the three
islands it spans. You’ll fight for Leone as he battles rival gangs, the police
force, and even the mayor’s office. Of course you’re free at any time to strike
out on your own and play as you like. This is a GTA game after all. You’ll find
all of the extra challenges that you’ve come to expect from GTA: insane jumps,
hidden packages, rampages, and more.
If you’ve played a GTA game before then you know a big part of the game is
the vehicles. Liberty City will give you all of the cars and trucks that you’d
expect, and will also include choppers, scooters, and boats. There are even
working train and ferry systems in the city.
The weapon system has been modified so that it works well with the PSP,
including a new targeting system. You’ll be able to use the new system with the
full bevy of weapons that you’ve come to expect from GTA: machine guns,
shotguns, pistols, and a few other surprises.
GTA: Liberty City doesn’t just replicate the GTA experience, it innovates as
well. Liberty City will support multiplayer gameplay over WiFi. Up to six
players will be able to compete in seven different game modes – all in the open
streets of Liberty City.
You’ll be able to make your return to Liberty City on October 25, 2005.
