There are basically three basic features to the courses available in the game:
normal rocketboarding and jumping, rail grinding, and aerial maneuvering. When
not grinding or going aerial, you are on a high speed run through futuristic
cityscapes. Your goal here is to make good time while hitting various bonus
point pick-ups and avoiding hovercar traffic and other obstacles. At various
points you will launch off of cliffs or fly off of ramps, giving you the chance
to earn points by pulling off stunts. As mentioned above, different arm and body
movements trigger different stunts, but flailing around wildly seems to do just
as well. As long as your board is below you when you land you’ll stick the
landing and collect the points for the tricks you pulled off.

The courses are also filled with special grinding rails that are more like
express moving walkways. Once you hop onto a rail, you are there for the
duration of the rail without the need to maintain your balance. Along the rail
there will be rings to grab for points by sticking your arms out. Grabbing a
same-colored sequence of rings results in a combo bonus and bigger points.
Special rings also appear that can cause you to switch to a bonus rail if you
get them all. There are also obstructions along the rail that will require you
to jump or duck when they appear or you’ll come to an unceremonious complete
stop.
Lastly, there are special jump pads which launch you into flight. While aerial
the goal is to maneuver yourself through floating rings to collect more points.
It’s not as simple as it sounds as when airborne you are very “floaty” and the
board responds slowly to your direction commands and it is easy to over steer.
The common thread in all of these course features is that you are trying to
collect as many points as possible before reaching the end of the course. Each
course has a minimum point requirement that you’ll need to meet in order to
complete the course. Fail and you’ll have to try it again. Succeed and you’re
reward with new courses, boards, and other unlockables.
There is a certain novelty factor to the game which makes it worth checking out
just to experience it – you just need to be patient with it during the times
when the camera tracking becomes a little off. It can also give you a great arm
workout if you can’t make it to the gym. On the downside the gameplay itself is
pretty much your average extreme boarding game and there is nothing to make it
stand out or grab your interest from that aspect.
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
75%. AntiGrav is the first game that actually makes you feel some of
the energy it takes to do some extreme boarding.
