______
Japan:|
Difficulty: 1/5
Record: 200/500 m 50.000 pts
Bonus Mileage: 400 m
Points needed for a 1-Up: 100.000
The second level is a bit longer than the Driller Lab, but not really harder.
Gravity is still low as well as the air consumption, X-blocks are relatively
scarce and air tanks are both numerous and reachable by easy means so you can
easily try to get a badge and the Perfect Air Bonus at the same time.
1-100m : Four colours
This plays just like the first one hundred meters in the Driller
Lab which means that you should just keep on moving and grab all
air capsules on the way down. A few of them might demand some X-
block chain-reactions but nothing too mind-boggling.
101-200m: Three colours
Three-colour-sections are a lot easier than four-colour-section but
of course also harder than two-colour-section except for the low
chance of uncontrollable chain-reactions.
Actually this is just a step-down in terms of difficulty from the
first section and nothing more or less. You'll be able to drill
through a lot of big blocks and every oxygen tank is as easy to nab
as in the first section so go for all of them.
201-300m: Two colours
Just the same as the centre section of the Driller Lab; just enjoy
this part.
301-400m: Four colours
Although gravity has clearly risen, only getting through this stage
is rather easy as you are able to drill down long ways before
reaching an X-block but getting every air tank is harder than in
any prior stage. Every item is surrounded by X-Blocks so you either
have to destroy them via chain-reactions or find (or create) a gap
in between them.
Since air consumption still is pretty low you better not hasten
through here too much but take your time and think strategically.
401-500m: Four colours
Pretty much the same as the previous hundred meters but now you'll
encounter the first air capsules lying in X-block-dead-ends so
prior to picking up one, better check if you can move on afterwards
without having to waste 20 percentage points of air.
