(17)  Part 17:  The Arena, Theresa, Traders, Bandits and Assassins

The Arena
"""""""""
Take the quest card, boast, go to Knothole Glade.  Exit Knothole Glade,
take the north path to the Arena Entrance.

Talk to the guard on the left and enter the Arena, this will begin the
quest.  After the cutscene you are in the Arena ssssssssssssss.

You can buy some Bright Plate armour here, its the only fixed shop that
sells the chest piece or the gloves.

There is also a Thunder hero doll you can buy here, or you can wait until
later.

You can also play Black Jack here, there isn't much point though.

Talk to some of the other fighters to kill the time until you get
summoned out to fight.

When you do get summoned, you should be prepared for a long run of
battles against many different opponents.

You will be summoned out there, go to the upper door on your mini-map
and talk to the guard on the right.

There are # sets, each set has a number of rounds and a set reward.  Do
not forget, if you quit after a round, the next round will earn you
nothing, try and stay in for all 9 rounds.

  Set 1 - 100 gold
	Round 1 = 5 green Wasps
	Round 2 = 8 green Wasps
	Round 3 = 8 red Wasps
	Round 4 = 8 armoured Wasps

  Set 2 - 500 gold
	Round 1 = 3 fighter and 2 mage Hobbes
	Round 2 = 5 fighter and 2 mage Hobbes
	Round 3 = 2 great, 3 fighter and 2 mage Hobbes
	Round 4 = 3 great, 3 fighter and 2 mage Hobbes

Whisper will join you in the third set, don't worry, she doesn't take any
of your money.

  Set 3 - 1000 gold
	Round 1 = 3 normal Balverines
	Round 2 = 5 normal Balverines
	Round 3 = 1 white and 5 normal Balverines
	Round 4 = 2 white and 6 normal Balverines

  Set 4 - 2000 gold
	Round 1 = 8 Skeleton Underlings
	Round 2 = 2 Skeleton Warriors and 2 Skeleton Underlings
	Round 3 = 4 Skeleton Warriors and 4 Skeleton Underlings
	Round 4 = 8 Skeleton Warriors

  Set 5 - 3000 gold
	Round 1 = 4 normal and 2 ranged Bandits
	Round 2 = 4 Bandit leaders and 4 ranged Bandits
	Round 3 = 4 Assassins and 4 elite Bandits
	Round 4 = 4 elite Bandit leaders, 2 range and 2 melee

  Set 6 - 4000 gold
	Round 1 - 2 Earth Trolls

  Set 7 - 8000 gold
	Round 1 = 2 Rock Trolls

  Set 8 - 10,000 gold
	Round 1 = 1 Scropion King

In the next round you have to make your first major story affecting
choice....

  Set 9 - 10,000 gold (only if you kill Whisper)
	Round 1 = Whisper

When you beat here, you will be given the choice to kill Whisper, or to
let her live, the choice should be obvious for your alignment.
	GOOD - walk away
	EVIL - kill her

What ever you choose, all of Albion will literally be talking about it.

When you've made your choice, the quest will be complete.

	Beating this quest earns you:
	  28,600 - 38,600 gold (less if you wussed out a round or more)
	  2000 renown
	  1 x Champion's Seal
	  1 x King Scorpion Sting



(FT)  Core Quest:  Finding Theresa Again
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
You need to go to Barrowfields, then enter the Grey House area to meet
your sister.  Once you enter the Grey House area the quest will be done.



Arena Entrance
""""""""""""""
After you beat the Arena quest, there were three men from Oakvale outside
the doors to the Arena when you went in, if you didn't kill them, talk to
them and one will give you an item.

	The guy will give you:
	  1 x Chainmail Helmet



(LT)  Optional Quest:  Lost Trader
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
You can take this quest card after completing the Arena quest, there are
no boasts for this quest though.  So, head to Oakvale after taking the
quest.  Enter the Clifftop Path like you did to first go to Twinblade's
Camp, cross the area and enter the Abandonded Road to start the quest.

Just follow the path until the end of the road, you can't miss the guys
brother, when you find him, turn around and go back to the start.

When you get back to his brother, the quest will be complete.

	Beating this quest earns you:
	  (T2)  Treasure Clue #2
	  2600 gold
	  150 renown



(BR)  Optional Quest:  Break the Siege
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
After completing the Arena quest you can take this quest card, do your
boasting and then teleport to Knothole Glade.  The quest will being
right away.

Go ahead and open the gates.  You'll be up against 8 or so bandits.  Once
they are all dead the quest is complete.

	Beating this quest earns you:
	  5000 gold
	  450 renown



(A0)  Side Quest:  Assassin Attacks (discovered)
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
After doing the "Break the Siege" quest Maze will warn you of Assassins
highered to kill you.  There are 5 in total, they always appear in the
same areas and I will break them down into side quests of their own.

These Assassin's all drop different items, they do come back to the
original areas so you can kill them more than once.  The rewards for each
Assassin may vary, but I will list the items I get.



(A1)  Side Quest:  Assassin Attack 1
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
The first one occurs at Witchwood Cullis gate, teleport there, follow the
path from the Cullis Gate until you get to the top of the mini-map where
there is a path that goes down, follow it to the big stone and the first
Assassin will spawn back on the path you just came from.

	Killing this Assassin rewards you with:
	  1 x Doll of You



(A2)  Side Quest:  Assassin Attack 2
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Next up is Knothole Glade, that little path on the right, before the
bridge leaving Knothole Glade, an Assassin will come from there.  Just
wander across the bridge and he should appear.

	Killing this Assassin rewards you with:
	  1 x Health Potion



(AC)  Side Quest:  Archery Competition
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Just outside the gates at Knothole Glade, after you beat the "Break the
Siege" quest, there is an Archery Competition mini-game you can play.

Remember way back when you were at the guild and I told you:

	"An excellent score is 150 or more, for reasons I will keep
	 secret for now, score 150-160 points"

Don't believe me?  Search [G2], fifth paragraph down.  Anyway, its time
to know why.  If you scored, lets say a 350 or more like I did my first
time through, you start with your high score at 350 for this mini-game.

So, now you should only have a 150 to start out to beat, which makes
getting the prizes here very easy.  You can earn some rare and valuable
items simply by beating your high score by 1.

My all time best score is 634, now, if you went up 1 point at a time,
you could in theory get over 300 prizes, all of which are valuable.

Anyway, you know how to shot, you know how to play, beat your old high
score and get some rewards!

I will list the items you can get, if there is no quantity infront of
the item, it means you can keep getting more of them as a random reward.

A final note is that you can also just kill the game guy to get the
trophy and treasure clue... he doesn't come back.

	Rewards for beating your own high scores:
	  100 renown (EVERY time you beat your high score)
	  (T3)  Treasure Clue #4
	  1 x Silver Arrow Trophy
	  Jet
	  Emerald
	  Diamond
	  Sapphire

	Consolation prizes (under, but close to your high score)
	  Health Potion
	  Chocolates
	  Moonfish
	  Tofu
	  Perfume
	  Golden Carrot
	  Crunchy Chick



(DD09)  Demon Door #9  -  Abandoned Road
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Warp to Twinblade's Camp, go out the exit to Abandoned Road, the Demon
Door is just off to the right.

	"What?  Oh.  You're not one of them, are you?  My eyesight's not
	 what it used to be."
	"One was a gallant Knight.  His plate armour was so shiny.
	 Probably what did my eyes in."
	"Then there as an evil mage, wore the darkest magical robes you
	 ever saw."
	"The last was a rogue - a Bandit, bit like the chaps here."

Now, you will need to have the full Bright Plate Outfit, the full Dark
Will user's Outfit and the full Bandit Outfit to enter this door.  If you
didn't buy the Bright Plate Outfit from the Arena, you will need to walk
around Witchwood talking to wandering traders until you find one with
the gloves and chest piece, then go to Knothole Glade and buy the
leggings and boots from the shop.

First equip the Bright Plate Outfit, talk to the door.

Then equip the Dark Will User's Outfit, talk to the door.

Last you equip the Bandit Outfit, talk to the door.

Inside is a single chest.

	Inside the chest you will find:
	  1 x The Dollmaster's Mace
