While
combat in the game is aesthetically pleasing to watch for those who enjoy
unbridled carnage, the game goes a bit too far in making things easy for you.
You'll often feel that your job is to hold the trigger down while the game does
the work. The levels are very linear, and the puzzles are simple, so don't
go looking for intellectual challenge here. The game ratchets up the
challenge as you make your way through it by throwing more and more enemies at
you, resulting in one blood bath after another.
Yes, in case you haven't guessed by now this is quite the gory game. If
dismembered body parts and buckets of blood make you squeamish, look elsewhere.
When they're not spattered with blood, the game's environments look pretty good.
The lighting is dark and creepy, and the whole thing has a very gothic feel to
it.
To get to the good part of the game, you have to make your way through the slow
and almost tedious swamp levels. After that the action picks up as you
take on the Third Reich. You'll face boss battles to provide a bit of a
change of pace, but for the most part you'll be killing evil minions.
While doing so can be a guilty pleasure, it might eventually wear thin on some
players.
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
76%. It looks pretty good and has some great special effects, but the
gameplay may not sustain your interest until the end.
