If
you played Serious Sam or
Serious Sam: The Second Encounter
on the PC, then you know the games were known for incredible graphics,
imaginative environments, and some of the most frantic action to be found in a
first person shooter. If you missed these PC games, you'll soon get your
chance to experience Serious Sam when the game lands on the Xbox later this
year.
In the game, you are Sam "Serious" Stone, a brave and no-nonsense tough guy
that can take on all sorts of alien monstrosities and kick their ugly butts.
The Earth is under attack and the war is not going well. In fact,
humankind faces extinction if something is not done to turn that tide.
That something is Sam. With the help of an ancient artifact known as the
"Time Lock," Sam is sent back in time to stop the alien forces bent on
destroying humanity.
The Xbox version promises to deliver the same hectic action as its PC
predecessors, with attacks of over 100 creatures at a time. Each type of
creature in the game has its own attacks and tactics, so those screens full of
enemies will be coming at you from the ground and air, with both destructive
ranged and brutal hand to hand attacks. Luckily for Sam (and you) he has a
veritable arsenal at his disposal. From the basics such as Colt .45s and a
shotgun to grenade launchers, flamethrowers, and laser guns, Sam has something
to stop anything that the alien invaders throw at him.
Gotham Games, the people bringing Serious Sam to the Xbox, recently released
information on some of the enemies and weapons that will be included in the
game. We've included that information here to give you a glimpse of what
to expect when the game is released later this year.
