17) GYROIDS:
******************************************************************************

What is a Gyroid, you ask? Gyroids are based on ancient Japanese
sculptures known as "haniwa" ("circle of clay"). Haniwa figures are sculptures
made of baked clay, and they are hollow inside. Their purpose was to decorate
and identify Japanese burial grounds in the second century. They used to look
like barrel-shaped cylinders, but in the fourth century they started making
haniwa to look like people, animals, houses, and even boats. These scuptures
had to made quickly, and thus the human-looking ones were very simple, with just
holes for eyes and a mouth, and tube-shaped arms. They usually didn't even have
the time to glaze them. In Animal Crossing, they look similar, but they also
wobble around and makes noises. You can also play a K.K. Slider song around
them, and they'll move to the music! Sounds fascinating, of course! Gyroids
can usually be found by digging them out of the ground like you would a fossil.
You can usually find lots of them on the first clear day after a rainstorm. So
collect them all, put them together, and let them make all kinds of crazy music
together! (P.S.: All Gyroids have a selling price of 828.)
