The dungeons themselves are filled with puzzles, many
of which can be pretty
challenging. Each of your characters carries a set of unique special
tools, and you'll need to use these tools to manipulate objects in order to
solve the puzzles. You'll still find your share of simple puzzles that
rely on actions such as block pushing, but for the most part it seems that a lot
of work has gone into designing the puzzles in the game. Those that really
enjoy exploring will be rewarded by the game's numerous hidden bonus dungeons.
While exploring them is not required to complete the game, they do add more
puzzles and challenge for those who want more from the game.
It is hardly worth mentioning game music in reviews because most games have some
sort of generic and entirely forgettable soundtrack that is indistinguishable
from one game to the next. However, this is not the case with Wild Arms 3
as the music in the game is very much worthy of mention. It draws heavily
on the Western influence that permeates the game, and does a wonderful job of
capturing the mournful sound of the guitar that was used so effectively in many
of the classic Western movies.
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
78%. While the excessive combat and
frustrating search system can make the game trying at times, overall it is not a
bad title. If you enjoy Japanese-style console RPGS, this one is
definitely worth a look. If you don't, Wild Arms 3 won't change your
opinion of the genre.
